Dave and Judy the farm pigs. They grew very large. Dave, the male pig was larger than Judy. He weighed close to 2000 pounds. We measured him with a cloth tape measure to get his weight. The calculations are as follow:
Heart Girth X Heart Girth X Length (divide by 400)
some people add 7 extra pounds if the pig weighs less than 150 pounds .
by this calculation to get a more accurate weight.

In spite of what some people say about the male pigs (boar) they are all not mean. Dave was a very friendly and a calm pig. He never once tried to bite or attack. Dave and Judy loved attention and loved to be petted and scratched.

However, it could make a difference as to how pigs are raised. If not much attention is given to the pig, then I would think that would lessen the chance of friendliness in pigs. But, that is only my opinion.

This picture is Dave the pig when he was a younger. He weighed almost 2000 lbs as he got older.

He lived to be about 10 years old.

About a week or so prior to his death, I noticed he was not getting up much, then noticed he couldn't get up at all. I made the humane decision to put him down. It was a sad day.

He is in piggy heaven with Judy.

I really miss them both and found them to be a great learning experience.

I enjoyed interacting with them both and really miss that.

The little piglets that Judy had were so cute and amusing to watch play.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of pictures of them. At that time, I did not have a digital camera.
Only had a 35mm camera, but no scanner.
