Re: Advocacy Group Decries PETA's Inhumane Treatment Of Wome

I've always thought the HSUS was the American answer to Canada's SPCA, apparently I was wrong.
Honestly, I haven't done any heavy research on them, the few things I have read puts them in a very positive light as an animal welfare organization.

Re: Lions extinct by 2020

Sanctuaries and centres for such animals in such places of the world have always struggled. The people with the desire and skills to care for the animals - lions in this case - come from universities and natural preservation groups elsewhere in the world. The animals are endangered in their country ...

Re: lets try this again.....................................

It's been a while since I've posted anything on this site, I've been busy with work and trying to get into school. To add to this discussion, I've now concluded that the problem ar groups and society has with exotic pets is not that these animals are being raised in a human environment, but that the...

Re: No-Kill Policy starting to spread; also anti-PETA articl

On the other hand, euthanizing shelters always end up destroying healthy animals simply due to age and keeping space available.

Re: No-Kill Policy starting to spread; also anti-PETA articl

The debate on no-kill versus euthanizing shelters is a slippery one. In my experience no-kill shelters run the risk of becoming overcrowded and end up having to turn animals away to maintain their standard.

Re: Advocacy Group Decries PETA's Inhumane Treatment Of Wome

Honestly, I don't think the HSUS is really all that bad, despite they're being an antagonist to my political views on animal ownership. Though I could be wrong, I think they've done a lot of good work in the animal welfare sector.

Re: Advocacy Group Decries PETA's Inhumane Treatment Of Wome

PETA doesn't scare me like it used to. It's gotten to the point with all their shenanigans that I can't even take them seriously as extremist sh** disturbers.

Re: Hello all!

Never gonna happen. Good luck to you nonetheless. Pardon my bluntness, honestly I have the same concerns as you. However I'd advise you make your interview a lot more thorough, that one question is very vague and it doesn't cover the issue of diseases or feral instincts which is what the gover...

Re: Rebellious Cockatoo

Just in case anybody still cared, I've been having a difficult time finding the right size wire for my cell phone because it's apparently an older model. I'm going to take pictures on my actual camera and upload them instead sometime in the future.

Re: Kennel maintenance

What company are you with? I'm curious, I'm with Petland right now and am hoping to get the same job as you working for them. The pay is greater, the hours better, and the work generally much easier and less strenuous compared to being a 'pet counsellor' or retail salesperson which is what I am righ...

Re: Ohio ban on exotics (pending?)

What is often the case in these instances is that the majority of the population really doesn't care either way. I'm writing this generally, not just on the state of Ohio. I've noticed that statistically there is a very tiny number of people in the animal industry to begin with, compared to other in...

Re: In the country of Canada; for education and exhibitation

Ontario doesn't have a province-wide ban yet and I'm hoping to keep it that way. You do have to look at the laws for the individual cities and counties though. The city of Ottawa and the counties on either side of it have bans but the county that the city of Kemptville (south of Ottawa) is in, does...

Re: Rebellious Cockatoo

I think what I'll do is head down to 'Future shop' and buy another one. I'm going shopping later today, so don't worry I will get the photos up eventually. There's also a couple of pics in there of the siamese cat I wanted a couple months ago.
