Re: Aren't Fur Farm Purchases Illegal?

I'm speaking to her now. With everything she's saying, the prices make sense. apparently she has half an acre for them, and that is pricey. She said the champagne she sold for 1500 was being treated for 6 months, and the adopter had no problem with the price. So profit is out. Also said that she's h...

Re: Aren't Fur Farm Purchases Illegal?

So apparently she's telling people that the fur farms she gets them from also have permits to sell pets. If they're selling them as pets anyways, she's not rescuing them for one. Two, she also said to me that she doesn't sell them, and then turned around and said it's ridiculous if I think she's get...

Re: Distributing Food/Water

So to get it you have to pick it up in person at John's place in Nebraska. I'm considering distributing it, but the cost of shipping makes the price really, really high--like $80. That's how much it was when I got it from Dave and he didn't make a buck off of it but sold it at cost. That being said...

Re: USDA License?

Hmm.. I have hopes that it should work out. Maybe I'll order some books to read to kids and I'll show them those, maybe do some reading sessions before getting the fox, just to show that I'm wanting to actually do exhibits. Maybe make some poster boards showing some interesting things about foxes an...

Re: USDA License?

I think the average rainfall where I'm from is somewhere around 50" a year. We used to get a TON of storms and heavy rains where I lived that would basically flood our yard, so the rain doesn't bother me personally. I actually like it to some extent. Used to play in it a lot as a kid. I just do...

PETA and a ton of AR's pretty much want you to have absolutely no pets. Bottom line. They're nut cases.

Re: USDA License?

Sounds all good then. I hadn't thought about the mud.. I'm really not fond of having just a concrete floor, it just seems horrible to me. What else would you recommend? -- Oh jeez, I wish I didn't know what negative temperatures were anymore! Be forever grateful, haha! I think I can handle some snow...

Re: USDA License?

It's really nice that OR lets you keep your animals under pet permits if you lose the USDA. (especially considering the instances of the animals getting to old to exhibit or getting health issues.) Do they allow red foxes with USDA? Oregon was the other option we were looking into since it's cheaper...

Re: USDA License?

Well that's a lot more simple than I expected.. Do I have to have experience or certificates or anything to get approved? And uh.. How do I show the care for the animals to get the license if I can't get the animals without the license? o.o; So as an example, if I were to do children's parties say.....

Red pandas aren't actually pandas though. Just like raccoon dogs aren't raccoons or dogs. So.. raccoons are even further from being pandas.

USDA License?

My husband and I are planning to move to Washington (state), hopefully this year. I never looked too much into getting a USDA license because I figured I would move to where it's not required if I were to get a fox, and because I was leaning on just becoming a vet. I don't know basically anything ab...
