Re: Crab-eating Raccons as Pets

I think a guy I follow on Instagram has them. His name is TexasHyena, and he owns a lot of exotics, and I believe he had several if I am not mistaken. It may have been some other procyonid that looked raccoon-ish.

Re: Are pet ringtails or cacomistles a thing?

A friend of mine has one. It's an absolute doll with her. Gets cranky when it is woken up during the day though and growls/hisses. But she handles him no problem and I believe allows the public to pet him. When I used to clean his enclosure I'd always have to peak in on him to make sure he was still...

Re: Considering Arctic Fox

Starting early summer going all the way to August I've noticed my four losing weight and fur. It's a long process. My Fable, who I thought was a bit chunky, actually just put on some extra winter weight and has lost almost all of that now. I'd like him to lose a teensy bit more, but may tackle that ...

Re: Colour morphs of these foxes?

Wish I was better with colors. I used to be pretty good at identifying them, but have definitely gotten rusty. 1) Looks like some type of marble to me, but not a regular sunglow marble. 2) Looks like a regular cross to me, but the lighting could be messing with the actual colors. 3) Looks pearl, may...

Re: my beagle?

I hope you can get some answers from the vet surgeon. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Lucy. It sounds like you made a good choice to go with the insulin instead of putting her down. Hopefully keeping her blood sugars in check with reduce lots of the issues you've been seeing.

Dexter, thanks for the head's up about the breeder in Texas with them. They're still a species I would love to own someday, so keeping track of breeders is always a great thing.

Re: What some members here don't know.

Pat, I've loved Sybil's ever since I found it. Before I owned a fox, it was recommended to read through every single fox post that was on here, and I DID, lol. Every single one (that's a lot, btw). The info gathered here is immense and invaluable. The board has gone through its ups and downs, drama,...

You can order Diatomaceous Earth off Amazon. That's what I did. :)

I'm sorry it's so rough, Pat. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Lucy. She seems like a very good dog.

That's probably true!

Sorry, Pat. :( I'm sure you're really struggling right now. It would be hard to not just lose a pet, but your last fox. Donnie is at the rainbow bridge waiting for you, and I do believe that he will watch over you.

Re: Cat food "experiment" + comparison of wet foods

Haven't been on in a while. This is a cool experiment. I really appreciate you taking the time to post all of this. It's super interesting to see what taste animals prefer. I'd be interested in seeing this experiment done on a bunch of kitties and seeing if they all have a similar palate or not.

Re: USDA proposed rule changes

This is nuts. When I have a little more time later today, I'll give them a piece of my mind. I'm sick of these proposed regs and how hard it makes it for law-abiding citizens. Although I disagree with their number 2. You shouldn't have a license if you're just using it as a loophole--that's not the ...

Re: "Sic" Emu

I am sorry about Drusilla. I hope you can get her some help. I have never owned an emu, but I was very interested in them for a while so I wrote up a care sheet for myself. I did some research, and here's what I wrote under the health section: Healthy Emu: A healthy emu will strut along the fence-li...
