Re: Brown Bears

Hopefully our bear owners will chime in with their thoughts and advice. I own small exotics (foxes and reptiles), but I think your enclosure for one sounds absolutely fantastic. I'd love to see finished pictures or work-in-progress pictures if possible. Welcome to the forum. It's great to have anoth...

Re: Fox Dog Project

I can tell this is really thought-out. Are you sure this isn't something you could try in the future? It looks like you've put your heart and soul into this idea.

Re: Fox Dog Project

Interesting. I hope someone sees this and takes it on. It would be very beneficial I think for people who like foxes but aren't really ready for one. As you said, there's many wolf-look-alike breeds, but no fox-look-alike breeds. I think it's definitely a cool idea worth looking into. I always wonde...

Re: Poseidon - The Dubia Roach

Love it! I think Poseidon is a perfect name for him. The mangled wing gives him a rugged look, lol. Bet the lady roaches love that.

I think dubia roaches are so cute. And your little man is no exception. ;)

Re: A quick update on Sushi...

Hope the little man feels better. Do you have any pictures posted anywhere of his condition? (Just curious for educational purposes in case others have this issue with their tanukis.) Hope he can start feeling better soon...

Is it a permanent thing he's got now or a temporary treatable thing?

Re: Sooty Owls

Not that I know of, but I haven't browsed bird classified sites for a while, so could be wrong. Since from Australia they are not allowed to be exported either, so any that are in the US would have had to have been before the ban which was a while ago. :/

Re: Foxes and Coatis

But if the fox had it's own enclosure and visits were closely moderated and supervised, it would probably be okay.

I do think a young fox would torment your coati, lol.

Re: October Crazies

Sorry your fox is acting that way. It can be very frustrating and disheartening to see. I wrote an article on the October Crazies that I think goes more in depth. https://www.wildhearts-exoticanimals.com/caresheets . My fox Ifrit gets really skittish during the wintertime, and it's sometimes impossi...

Re: Rant on a thing

I can certainly agree that pet owners need to stand together and not feel ashamed of who they are. And those with species like CT has should stand alongside us. It's sad that many won't who are in a "higher" position do that. Sometimes I slip into saying my pets are zoological/ambassadors/...

Re: Rant on a thing

I'm a bit disappointed, I thought we all agreed that what she is doing is hideous. As I said before, withholding information that could potentially keep other captive sloths alive due to elitism is pretty bad. If sloths are as hard as you say they are, she's allowing other owners to go into it blin...

Re: Rant on a thing

The things I am bothered by are 1) not selling to pet owners, and 2) not sharing information. That last bit is what I dislike most. All the other stuff, whether or not she's a conservationist or whatever is just going to be debated back and forth and isn't the heart of the issue, imo. But it's crazy...
