Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

Interesting opinion, thanks for voicing it. I personally believe that animals are meant to be used by humans. As long as they are treated humanely up until death, of course, and the animal is content and happy up until that point. I understand that the meat industry can use some changes. Overcrowdin...

Re: African Wild Cat Behavior

I just figured I'd give a quick answer here that might point you in the right direction. Try the exotic cat facebook groups if you are interested in learning about their behavior. Unfortunately, the board never really had that many exotic cat owners on here, so I don't think there will be anyone to ...

Re: Hi everyone - greetings, background, my fuzzy fam

Actually, invasive species don't have to be a species introduced by humans to be considered invasive. Technically red foxes are invasive to Utah. Humans just pushed their range over to a place where they did not originally belong--like 100 years ago. This is according to a DWR official here in Utah,...

Re: Any body from Florida?

Unfortunately, that's the law in many if not all states... It's part of the health department's code about animals that don't have an approved rabies vaccine. They need to be put down if they bite. To avoid this from happening to you, offer to restrain the coon yourself and ask that he be sedated pr...

Re: Pork and Beef

I've seen this shared on facebook recently as a reason why dogs/foxes shouldn't be fed beef.

I alerted a friend of mine to your post. She's a member here and has owned raccoons. If she's interested, I'm sure she'll chime in.

Re: STO questions

The Cincinnati Zoo feeds their STOs "Nebraska Feline Diet (NFD), mealworms, crickets, banana." So I would assume then that banana is a good fruit for them to eat.

Re: Fuzzy Greetings!

Aaaw. She's so cute! Congratulations on getting your fox baby. You and I sound very similar, lol. I did reptile education programs for about 2 years for a company--everything from ball pythons to gators. Very fun experience that taught me a lot--especially taught me how to educate properly. Now I'm ...

Okay, thank you. That makes a lot more sense. I know it had been talked about here and there in the fox forums a little, but it's nice to have a solid answer for it.

Pork and Beef

I always hear you shouldn't feed your fox pork because of the ash content, or feed beef because... beef is bad for foxes. But what is the real reason behind not feeding these things? I try to understand nutrition, but I'm not the best at it. Thanks! Someone was asking me about these two meats, and I...
