Re: Breeds

Palid foxes do seem exceptionally friendly and "cuddly" as far as foxes go. Wouldn't mind having one myself, just need permits for it first.

Re: Hello all

I'm sorry that you lost her. It can be very hard to lose a pet. Maybe once you move you'll be able to get another that will fill the void in your heart. Not replace her, just fill that empty space she left behind.

Welcome to the board.

Re: Ways to prevent foxes from marking territory?

Marking is part of a fox's instinctive nature. There is no way to stop a fox from marking, unfortunately. The people you see who keep foxes indoors--I don't know how they put up with the destruction and the stench.

Re: Red Fox legality in Utah?

Hi! Have you tried Wild Wonders down in Genola? Sarah Jacobsen runs an educational facility, and there are five foxes at her facility. She takes interns a lot, and I think she loses many of them during the winter months, so now would be a great time to contact her if you are interested in that. I do...

Wildlife Toy Box

This is a great site to go to to buy those big "boomer balls" that you always see tigers and elephants playing with at the zoo. They have a wide assortment of enrichment items, specialized for destructive animals so that they last a really long time. They are made out of an ingestible mate...

Re: Lizard Needs to Lose Weight (tegu)

I'm pretty sure Payload has successfully lost the weight I was concerned about. I haven't weighed him, but just by looking at him he looks slimmer and healthier. So success! Exercise, and feed less.

Re: Considering a parrot...

Ooh, freeflight has always fascinated me. If I ever got a parrot, I would train it to do freeflight too. Though I'd be SO nervous it would go wrong. Do you watch Bird Tricks on Youtube? They have such beautiful parrots that they fly.

Hope you can get a good deal on a cage. They can be so expensive.

Re: Mexican Spinytailed Iguana

Wanted to update this thread for anyone who was curious. First of all, YES. Monitors NEED UVB. The people I heard from were TOTALLY wrong. They require it to LIVE. So just wanted to get that out of the way because I was dead wrong there and I don't want to spread misinformation. Second, pectinata ig...

Hey, great to hear from you again! We totally remember you. :) That's amazing that you went on to do so many things with animals and got a degree in bio. You've probably learned TONS and can teach people lots of stuff. Anyway, good to have you back. And congrats on your pup. :) Nayra is a pretty name.

Re: Considering a parrot...

Pets and college is totally feasible. Maybe go to a college that's close to home. Or find somewhere to rent that allows birds. It may cost a little more to have a bird, but I doubt most landlords would mind if you asked. I'm glad you've made a decision! You'll have to post pictures once you get him/...

Pua!

Yes, thankfully I see a lot being shared on facebook regarding service dogs vs emotional support dogs lately, which is accurate and good.

Hope people can get it through their brains that you cannot have exotics for service animals no matter how much you believe you can.

Yes, this is what I've heard a lot of big cat owners say.
