Re: my female peacock.

I have a turkey that will sit on chicken eggs. This year she shared a nest and the chicks with a hen. The hens had two mom's but all the chicks got "popped" because the moms were dumb and took the chicks by the horses. They would get stepped on and they popped. Gross.

I feel like of all animals a cat can appreciate a prank. They are like the king of pranks as far as animals go with their running between your legs and knocking crap of the table shenanigans.

They can live as long as the tumor doesn't spread to a vital organ. Its an extremely painful cancer though. Usually the bone breaks with no hope of healing. imagine a broken bone for the rest of your life. I personally see the cancer spread to the chest or spleen within 3-5 months most of the time. ...

Re: Billy Bob had to be put down.

Sorry to hear this Pat. All I will say is ever vet is different but I'm just a tech and I'm sure I could have found an appropriate vein on a raccoon without using the heart stick. We regularly draw blood on kittens 6 weeks of age. I'm sure a raccoon would have been no problem. But skill levels do va...

Re: Ivermectin, "Heartgard" and the Baylisascaris worm

Ivermectin can cause neurologic issues and death if overdosed. Now the safety margin is high but still. Panacur would be a bit safer on an infant animal. Panacur doesn't cross the brain blood barrier like ivomec, so it is considered safer in very young animals.

Hey why no love for savannahs? Ha, I just got one a few months ago and its so funny. I would say more personality then my tegu had.
I also have some side blotched lizards and fence swifts. The side blotched lizard are little characters. The males are too funny. Just little tiny $10 lizards.

Convenia is the injection. Its so awesome. It is silly they didn't use it but it does cost more so they may just assume to use drops instead. Or they could be old school and not try new things.

Re: question on cat cancer...............

Lumps near the eye are usually cancer or abscess. The cat having diabetes makes abscess a good possibility. They have lower immune systems. Cancer on bloodwork can show up as a high calcium level, but not always. Abscess can show up as high white cells, but not always. Ascesses can cause a high temp...

Re: New pig

It is potentially contagious though Ive never had a non pig catch it from my pigs. They allll came with it. You have to treat it every two weeks for 3 doses.
If her poops are stinky from worms the ivermectin gets worms also.
Though to be honest, it is pretty smelly normally.

Re: New pig

She looks to have mange and will need some ivermectin. That's why she is itching on everything and the skin around her eyes is thick. As for feeding. Give her 1/2 cup twice daily and increase as she grows to 1 cup twice daily and do not feed more. If you feeds treats or veggies make sure to decrease...

Re: Campaign to save dog in Arizona mauling

actually there are very good dog house kits for constructing them out of old drums. Not sure why that would be a law since they make excellent houses.

Re: Campaign to save dog in Arizona mauling

This is not an abuse response. This is a food/item aggression issue. There most of the time is nothing more to it. These kinds of dogs you don't even have to grab the item but be near them when they have it. This is a very dangerous type of dog. This dog did not nip. It is not a large dog and doesn'...
