Re: Our Bobcat Benji
I did forget to mention we had extenuating circumstances. We had three kittens to deal with instead of one, and to distract one just got the others all rowed up, and at five weeks I had something to deal with that XY men never do. They went absolutely crazy with some kind of weird kitten blood-lust,...

Re: Our Bobcat Benji
I only meant that when handing them toys, they would grab with the claws. I never said trying to distract them shouldn't be done, only that it didn't work for us.

Re: Our Bobcat Benji
Unstable, I never diverted their attention. Good way to bring out the claws! I would say "No" firmly and tap them lightly on the nose. Mine also have a very "out of sight out of mind" mentality. Hiding my hands was a good way to get them to forget about biting. They don't follow ...

Re: Our Bobcat Benji
But when raised by hand from an early age they are not just going to out of the blue attack you. That is one thing I really love about bobs. This isn't always true, especially when dealing with one that hasn't been spayed or neutered. I know I've told the story of Tiger Lily here in the past. She w...

Re: Is this a scammer?
Not saying it isn't a scam, but there was a breeder near me a year or so ago that was selling off several pairs of pale foxes. There definitely are some floating around somewhere.

Re: Bitey Fox?
It won't hurt him at any strength, unless it gets in his eyes. I guess try half and half for now, and play around with it from there.

If Cali ever goes missing there's going to be a long list of suspects.

Re: Can you own a Fox easily in Indiana?
It still only lists reds and grays in the regulations that refer to everything, not just wild caught.

Re: Can you own a Fox easily in Indiana?
Looks like it depends on what species. It only lists reds and grays as foxes needing a permit.

Re: Bitey Fox?
I don't dilute it since my smallest is over 20 lbs, but I would dilute for a young fox kit. I use a fine mist in front of them. If he inhales it, it'll burn a bit. Like I said before, I wouldn't do it where it could get in his eye because it really does burn. I have never done this with a fox kit, j...

Re: Bitey Fox?
Again not a fox... but when we had birds that's what we would do. Put on a glove and let them bite as hard as they could. Eventually they got the idea it wouldn't work and quit. That was just a bird, though. Also, have you tried vinegar? It works on the cats when they get rowdy. You have to make sur...

You might try local wholesalers for chicken necks. That's what we do, and they're only $0.25 a pound for us. You just have to buy 40 pounds at a time.

Re: Post here for food and snack ideas
I have one domestic that loves tomato sauce and black eyed peas. I think he ate a chick pea last night too.
