Re: What is a True Exotic Animal Sanctuary?

There's just quite a few individuals I see who acquired pets secondhand from the black market (I consider any animal sold without USDA to be a black market animal- it technically is!), call them rescues, and some have even gone far enough to establish a 'sanctuary' with these animals despite the maj...

Re: Arctic being raised in an apartment.

Sara, I know who your friend is and I think it's a different situation. I'm not sure if she rents or owns, but an apartment more often than not is a bad place to have a fox. Keeping a fox inside tends not to work out and her situation is an exception rather than a rule. Still, I wouldn't call for th...

Re: Fox breeders in Ohio?

I totally get the pricing with the foxes, if you take better care of your animals you have to price them higher. I help out with a rabbitry, and our bunnies are $100 because we clean every day, have organic food and hay, let our rabbits run around in pens daily, and try to spend time with each one....

I would not recommend Fox Paw.
Lost River I've heard are very kind people.
I dealt with Tiny Tracks and I recommend them highly.

This is really cool. Even though this is my major (computer animation/simulation), I had never thought about modeling cages. Would be pretty easy to do, too.

The human equivalent mentioned in the beautiful fur animals book is Chédiak–Higashi syndrome.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A9d ... i_syndrome

this syndrome also causes partial albinism in some animals/people.

Fawn glow. Basically what happens when the pearl is introduced to a champagne fox. Pink champagne, colicott, and fawn glow are all recessive fire factor mutants on a silver background. Here is what I've written about fawn glows on my color guide: "Fawn glow is created by the combination of the ...

I don't know the avatar size but I generally use 100 x 100 pixels. If it's too big for an attachment, host the image somewhere else (photobucket, imgur, etc) that does not have an image size limit and then use [ img ][ /img ] (without the spacing) and put the url between the two ][ back to back brac...

Lavender champagne is not a coloration I've heard of. it's more likely that he's a Champagne, fawn glow, or "lavender" tends to be a name that ranchers use to describe either pastel/burgundy foxes or colicott/fawn glow foxes. Mating season is starting. Males start producing extra testoster...

Re: whats with the butt fur

Is it matting? Sometimes their fur will mat up around their flanks/back of their legs. I personally didn't experience this issue with my fox but I know people who have tried very hard to get matting out of the back of their fox's leg.
