Re: my new duck

I put him in a large dog crate on the front porch. put some food and water for him. I did give him some of one of my fox'es antibotics. it is liquid. I used an eye dropper and squirted a little in his mouth. I agree with you, there is only so much we can do as they get old. I can't even remember how...

Re: Vitamins

sometimes it is hard to change a raccoons natural sleep schedule. I try to pay attention to them during the day, but, if they could talk they would say to me "get the hell out of here bitch let me sleep when I want to. "

Re: my new duck

guess animals can be like people, animals personality can be different. Lucy is pretty easy going. Leo gets along with everyone. I think I got a picture of Mable and Lucy laying on the doggy cot. when I get time, I will try and post it. I agree with you, any animal that dies is upsetting. right now,...

Re: my new duck

thank you GitaBrooks. you are like me, it doesn't matter what animal we lose, we still get upset. I had some chickens killed by a wild fox. that fox is so bold, he actually made eye contact with me  he is still here, but, very hard to catch. I really don't want to use a leg. I know it was not ...

Re: my new duck

sadly, my duck (Mable her name) died yesterday icon-sad I bought her at an auction a while ago. I really did not know her age. before she died, I noticed her one eye was sealed shut. I wiped it with a warm cloth to try and get it open. but did not work. after she died, that eye was open. she was suc...

Re: Vitamins

Yatzee doesn't go outside. I try to get him to wake up before the sun goes down so he can get some sun in the window. Lately, he has been sleeping through the mornings and not getting up until 7 or 8pm. No sun. Should I give him vitamins? He eats grain free whitefish and chicken dry dog food. how o...

Re: my beagle?

I think the steroids were so he wouldn't react to the stitches, but he did anyways, so they removed them early (they were the kind that dissolve, but they were getting infected). After the ones on his belly were removed he started doing much better. wonder why the stitches caused an infection. my v...

Re: my beagle?

So glad Lucy is doing so well! Cinnamon is doing amazing! At first I was worried because he was panting, coughing, and, without the pain meds, seemed quite sore, but we think the panting was just his reaction to the steroids (he generally can't take them because they give him panic attacks). They h...

Re: Urine smell

I have taken in a baby raccoon who is about 5-6 weeks old and his urine smells, is this normal? no, it is not normal. However, it could depend on where he pees at? I use litter pans with kitty litter. However, if your raccoon's urine smells bad, he could have an infection. Maybe a vet check would h...

Re: my new duck

If you really want a house pet chicken or duck, they sell chicken and duck diapers now :D I was actually thinking about getting a small chicken for a pet before I decided to go for my dream of a fennec while I still could. she don't stay in the house all the time. I let her out during the day. but,...
