Re: Anal Gland issues

george use to have that problem. I took him to the vets, they shaved him, then cleaned it out his anal gland thereafter, , sometimes I need to trim the fur around there too. however, give mary's ideas a try first and see how it goes. will bobby let you trim there? I use scissors that don't have a po...

Re: Stranger Agression

raccoons should be fixed a lot sooner. the age 5-6 weeks of age. this prevents aggression. your raccoon hopefully will change later after the getting him fixed. the longer wait for getting him fixed, the longer it takes to kick in, if at all. this time of year is approaching the breeding season, the...

Re: Arms vibrating hugging toy or my foot

I agree with mary, looks like humping to me too.
depends on the age he was neutered. the older a raccoon is to get neutered, the longer it will take for the brain to catch up with the other end

Re: wild fox question.

mary, thank you for understanding. it is upsetting to lose our pets to a predator. Understanding, however, they need to eat too. there are wild rabbits they can eat, mice, rats or whatever. my peacock's feathers are still down by the fence in the front property. A long time ago, I did see a wild fox...

Re: wild fox question.

I plan on getting an electric fence around the property and another layer around the enclosure. right now, I have 3 full grown turkeys and 6 young ones. they all stick together. (same pen my peacock was in) what I did, for now, is put a radio in the pen. also I have a fake alligator and put that ins...

Deweys mom and ana posted good info.
however, I would like to know what you feed her?
not saying that is the reason, but, only trying to rule that out.

Re: wild fox question.

oh, I know what you mean now. I thought of doing that. it will take time to do it, but, I will do it. some people call it a "skirt" I am so paranoid, I am going to try and do both. I will wait till my friend comes over and he can help me with it. I am still waiting for that fox, he...

Re: wild fox question.

You don't need a whole top, you can do a lean out at the top plus some a dig guard and the bottom should keep them out. If you can afford it, running 3 lines of electric around it 2 near bottom and one along the top works well too. not sure what a dig guard is? the electric is a real good idea. I h...

Re: wild fox question.

GitaBooks, bummer about your chickens. I know how you feel icon-sad I am almost positive it was a fox. just by the location of where the feathers were. being that the fox was bold enough to surface near the house yesterday morning, I really believe it as a fox. also, the same day, a chicken with it;...

wild fox question.

I have a wild red fox that made himself at home here. I think, his/her den is on the other side of the fence. I have a hav-a-hart trap set. no luck. I covered the trap with branches, leaves. even put food on the outside of the trap. I think I seen the fox hole, not sure, I will get a picture of it w...

Re: Raccoon Dilemma

I agree with Ana, some or most raccoons want their own space. you can have the both of best worlds keep him in the enclosure, but, you can also bring him inside with you once he learns what is off limits. as for litter training, in my experience, raccoons are easy to litter train. I use cat litter a...

Re: Any body from Florida?

it really pisses me off when vets or dnr/GC seem to think a pet raccoon is the same as a wild raccoon  yes, I can understand where a wild raccoon can get rabies. but as Dana said, rabie cakes are dropped for the wild wild raccoons. that is how it in is in the state Dana and I live. there are o...

Re: Brevecto is NOT safe

I use to use revolution. that seemed to work. not very cheap though. however, ana came up with a good idea, buy one for large dogs, then measure enough for the the weight of the dog, raccoons or whatever. ana had a chart for the measurements I have a copy of it, if anyone would like to see it. but f...

Re: Brevecto is NOT safe

I would be interested in what everyone uses for flea treatment?

I just put coconut oil on their fur, seems to help. however, I also have guineas. so not sure which is working
