Re: Intact prairie dog

It sounds like he may be over weight. The extra fat can hide the genitals and make it messy around there as well. Being on an unhealthy food will for sure make an animal smell worse. good point. never thought of that. I know when george (my raccoon) was obese. he did smell a little at his ass end. ...

Re: Donnie

Sorry, Pat. :( I'm sure you're really struggling right now. It would be hard to not just lose a pet, but your last fox. Donnie is at the rainbow bridge waiting for you, and I do believe that he will watch over you. Thank you Ash. He is with my other two foxes over the rainbow bridge. I had a hard t...

Re: Intact prairie dog

I don't know much about prairie dogs. I think neutering is possible at his age. if praire dogs are like most animals, it takes a few+ months for the brain to catch up. I did read a little about prairie dogs. some intact animals will throw off odors. as for something to chew on, how about raw hide bo...

Re: Cat food "experiment" + comparison of wet foods

A little kitty food once in a while won't hurt your pup, haha. Glad your cats enjoy wet food. Some, like my cat, won't touch the regular canned food at all! what type of canned food did you try you feeding your cat? I am surprised your cat don't like the canned. Your cat is so darn beautiful. I hav...

Re: Cat food "experiment" + comparison of wet foods

Juska, thank you for posting the information. the cat bowl is so darn cute. the food to me don't look very appetizing, but, it does to a cat  I feed my cats Purina dry and canned. they seem to do well on it. they love canned food. so do my dogs, but, I don't give it to them. sometimes my aussie...

Re: "Sic" Emu

this is what you should be feeding your emu's: https://www.hubbardlife.com/ratite/ratite-feed.aspx also, this site has a little bit of good information. if you can't find it anywhere, the turkey food would work. some places will ship. I don't know where you live, hopefully, you can find somewhere to...

Re: "Sic" Emu

Before we got Drusilla, Fence lived with another boy Emu, called Major. 70% of the time, they got along just fine, the other 30% they chased each other, but never aggressive. Fence is now very calm, and the minut Drusilla died, he got alot calmer. Well, I'm not going to lie, when he get he's favori...

Re: Donnie

Donnie just died about half hour ago. I knew it was coming, but I am still upset and very sad right now. I would have rather Donnie died on his own. I am going to get some clay and do a paw print of him. (I have lots of paw prints from my other animals hanging on the wall). Donnie was my last ...

Re: Donnie

I really can't take much more seeing Donnie in this condition. I think he is beyond any type of meds. Last night he went into the outdoor enclosure. he is just laying there on the ground... I tried giving him another egg with prednisone, but, he would not eat it. seems he got mad that I did that. Ga...

Re: Donnie

Kidney and liver issues are very common in older foxes and older animals in general so there is fairly high likelihood that it's at least part of his issues but it's not a sure thing without a blood test. If you're going to get the phosphorus binder from the vet then you can ask for some denamarin ...

I think so. he actually lays in his litter box for a while  Donnie was usually pretty good using the litter box. (especially for a fox)

Re: my beagle?

Cinnamon made it through surgery! He is home, resting, and doing well! His brother made it 3 days after the surgery before he passed away, so I don't think I'll be able to relax until after 3 days. But so far so good! really glad to hear Cinnamon made it through surgery. Sad about cinnamon's brothe...
