Re: wild fox question.

Re: wild fox question.

Dana, I really don't want to use a foot trap. I would have to keep checking it. I know a fox won't go in a humane trap. I walked the property this morning and followed the foot prints. geez, that fox was everywhere. gary has so much junk laying around. I did find a spot where a fox might be. maybe w...

Re: wild fox question.

that wild fox is back again. this time, he moved somewhere on side or back of the property. he killed one of my ducks. I have more litter to spread around the pond. now I have to find the fox hole and dump more litter near there. Donnie is the only fox I have left. he is 12 this year. so I don't kno...

Re: Hill’s Prescription Diet and Science Diet Dog Food Recall

thank you Juska for the hills food post. I personally don't recommend Hill's dog food at all. some vets use to and still might push the hill's dog food. some vets buy dog food that is cheap or on sale. some vets don't care about food quality. science diet food is what killed one of my dogs, I finall...

Re: Patagonian Cavies in Oregon?

I use to see them at an auction in Ohio. I thought about getting one. but, I wanted to do more research before I got one.
I think they are more of outdoor animals. I really don't know a lot about them. only seen them at an auction.

Re: Weird Blood Levels

Found it. Rocky Mountain Spotted fever can include swelling of the face in dog https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/rocky-mountain-spotted-fever-in-dogs thank you mary. that was very interesting. I never heard of that before. sounds like there is treatment for it though. would blood work show it?...

Re: Weird Blood Levels

I had a dog that had lyme. I really didn't know until one day she could not walk. I took her to the vet and they tested her positive. they prescribed a 30 day antibiotic. by the next day, she started walking and was fine after that. however, a few or more years later she did pass away from lymphoma ...

Re: Howdy, y'all.

welcome to sybil's message board. interesting story on how you got your raccoon. raccoons are so darn cute and so easy to fall in love with. If you keep him, he should be fixed though. the hard part is finding a vet that will treat a raccoon without being legal icon-sad hope you post more informatio...

Re: my beagle?

With the blood count plus feeling a mass it is probably cancer, only 100% sure way is to biopsy it but that will be expensive. But if there is no mass then maybe autoimmune, which is a genetic issue. I don't remember her blood work but Kat(cat) got to just laying around and had her seen and vet fou...

Re: my beagle?

how old was cedar? I know at any age, it is hard to see our animals sick. if they reach their life span, it is easier to understand, but of course still hard to lose them. I am sure it was hard to make the decision of surgery. on another note, we can't let our dogs suffer either. we have to wonder (...

Re: my beagle?

It's so hard. I'm so sorry that you guys have to go through this. Our last dog we lost, Cedar, has a mass in his stomach. A friend of ours is a vet and she actually removed it (it was huge). He passed a few days later from post-surgery complications. This means the surgery worked, it was likely som...
