Re: Tricks? Training? How old?

Hahaha, she definitely is obsessed with food. I kind of think it's just because she's a kitten and is growing. I'm hoping it'll go away when she's older. She's gotten a bit better with it, since I've been consistent. Especially if she's being too persistent with it, I yell at her and she just lies d...

Re: Post here for food and snack ideas

I just have to share real quick. I had some feeder fish that we never ended up doing anything with. We had them quarantined for a month and a half. After this thread, it gave me the idea to give them to Daisy as a treat. I put one in a bowl next to her food dish and she spent some time trying to sco...

Re: Post here for food and snack ideas

I use dog food as treats too. Like dog food high in sugar or that is really soft. Kibbles and Bits is one I use and the other, I forget the name of, but I remember they called it meaty dinner rolls or something. Walmart occasionally has it, but since I don't see it that often I don't remember what i...

Re: Tricks? Training? How old?

After watching it again, I guess it wasn't that it would cause marking behaviours, but that it could encourage it. He does make a really good point though that you don't get to actually see what the poop looks like in case something is wrong with it. Anyway, I understand the LitterKwitter is somethi...

Re: Spaying and Marking

Spaying her does stop the marking and spraying. Just make sure that when she goes in for the operation, to clean your walls and carpet really well. If she smells herself, it may encourage her to continue. Use a black light to find places she's sprayed. It's only male cats that it might not fix it at...

Re: Post here for food and snack ideas

Huh, I've been told that dogs should never eat cat food, but cats can have a small amount of dog food. My cat eats literally anything. I mean, potato chips, noodles, even some fruits and vegetables. She actually loves dog food too. When I feed the dogs and some kibbles get loose, she'll actually sto...

Re: Tricks? Training? How old?

I agree, any age really. I've rescued a five year old and I'm just teaching it to do her business on the (human) toilet, using LitterKwitter. She picked it up really quickly and we are in the final stages very soon. I don't know if anyone is familiar with Jackson Galaxy, he's the cat behaviourist o...

Re: Chinese Crested Dogs

I'm sure you're going to let us know if you ever do get. They're so...what's the word..majestic? looking. I'm really debating whether to get this type of breed or an Alaskan Klee Kai. Although, I love exotics, I think they're too much work for me and don't think I'll be getting one. Plus, my brother...

Re: Contradicting Information Regarding Laws

Yep, it's right. No foxes in Nevada even though Las Vegas allows. To be honest, I'm not that surprised. I was researching skunks too, which are illegal here. The reason being that they don't have enough or the right vaccines for them. I think there is also some issue with the fact that they aren't n...

Re: Contradicting Information Regarding Laws

That's kind of contradicting too. You say that I should go by the most restrictive law, yet it could vary by city and county. I mean, one of those laws says you can have monkeys and elephants without a permit, but no foxes. The other says you need a permit for monkeys and elephants and you can have ...

Re: Chinese Crested Dogs

I fostered a Chinese Crested for a few months. It was for a lady who was being relocated. He job relocated her here in Vegas, then a few days later made her go to Washington D.C. She was trying to rehome her Chinese Crested and a Jack Russell mix on Craig's List. I offered to foster them until she g...

Re: Papillon

Honestly, with dogs you can't really go with what people or even textbooks say. Each and every dog is very different. Papillons aren't said to be the smartest, they were just tested to be the most easily trained. That doesn't mean that each and every Papillon is easy to train. Anyway, no matter what...

Contradicting Information Regarding Laws

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm interested in owning an exotic pet. Only interested at the moment really, but I was kind of leaning on a fox. I'm just so confused though. In this link, it says that I can own a fox with a permit: http://www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Apply/20791.htm" onclick="window.open(th...

Re: Anya Comes home

Hi, I just wanted to say that I read the entire thread about Sibfox. I mean, all 28 pages of it. Like someone else said, it was like reading a book. I found my self quivering with excitement when I read that you had found Viktor at that zoo. I just registered to congratulate you on your new little b...
