Re: Eaten Alive

I'm sure it will be a combination of:

a) reenactments of attacks on humans
b) video of big snakes eating big animals
and
c) they shove a piece of meat with a small camera attached down the throat of a big snake and show the journey.

Re: Buying wholesale

On a related topic, I'm kind of surprised at how good the prices are online these days. Especially compared to brick n' mortar. I almost (well I do) feel sorry for the retail businesses because how can they possibly compete with the price and convinience (shopping from home, delivered to your door) ...

Buying wholesale

I have a question. Have any of you bought directly from a pet food company because you have too many animals and need to buy in bulk/not be able to afford retail prices? Does anyone know if the food makers sell wholesale to "kennels" or "aviaries" if one has a certain amount of a...

Re: hi-tek naturals grain free QUESTION

Im surprised I never responded to this old thread before. At least one of my dogs had bad allergies, skin and otherwise, and nothing helped until I switched to hi tec lamb/sweet potato grain free. She has been fine since (its been a few years now) and thats what I feed all my dogs. So for me there w...

Re: Lions to be listed as endangered by USFW

Are there any asiatic lions floating around in the U.S.? Create a few hybrid studs to service the privately kept animals and then the hybrids do not have to deal with these restrictions? Ironic that this regulation would lead to the loss of a ton of "pure" African or Asiatic lions in favor...

6 foot fence, or did you get a variance for 4?

Re: Exotics Sanctuary Pictures

Most of these places get too old for people, meat, donated to them from grocery stores that can then take it as a tax right off so that's not usually the issue. Zoos do this too. Cages do look small, but I've (recently) seen smaller and dirtier. At least this place has concrete slab in some of those...

Re: Aardwolf

At the top of this main wildlife page you will see a PDF link to the letter announcing these meetings and locations (date TBA) http://myfwc.com/license/captive-wildlife/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Anything dealing with the rules for captive wildlife are being gone over in them. M...

Re: Getting Licensed Finally! (USDA)

It was fairly easy, but mostly because it was for Capybaras which are not "dangerous" animals and of course do not climb or even jump very well. So it was a breath of fresh air that they used common sense and gave me the variance for them.

Re: Getting Licensed Finally! (USDA)

I got licensed recently, had to get a variance to allow 4 foot fence instead of six, but otherwise it went smooth. Good luck.

Re: Aardwolf

I suppose appearing at your local commission meeting for this when it gets scheduled and speaking about it with some quick facts about how it is ridiculous that 15 pound insectivores are listed as class 1's, or even a letter to that same effect.

Re: Aardwolf

Good video. I got Aardwolf placed on the agenda for this year for review of class listing, and the cities the public forums are being held in to discuss and review the current captive wildlife rules have been announced but no date set yet. Its so inappropriate that this small insectivore is a class ...

Re: EXOTIC SALE IN FLORIDA

Ok, I'll have to visit the Bushnell auction more, as a seller. I'm sure that must be the one I went to and just drove through Webster on the way to it. If all goes as planned I'll be spending a lot more time in Bushnell starting in September anyways. As for Ocala's goat sale, I did go there once and...

Re: EXOTIC SALE IN FLORIDA

The lady I called said their last exotic auction was this past December. Where are the importers taking their surplus now? I wonder if that is why I am seeing a lot more adds from the handful of south Florida importers online. What happened was they closed down for a few years then reopened for awh...
