Re: its been a while........ Food question....

s.iker, "I am sorry my information was useless to you. so I will bow out of this topic." I understand. Trapping and hunting is very controversial to a lot of people. But its kinda the same as having an exotic pet... Cause i get lectured up the wazoo about wanting a pet fox.. Yes, i KNOW t...

Re: its been a while........ Food question....

"Wild meat sources. Cook them or keep the meat DEEP frozen for more than 30 days should render it safe from most things. One thing I know freezing is especially difficult to kill is trichinosis so wild boar should always bee cooked. Raccoon is best always cooked too. Possum isn't as bad actuall...

Re: its been a while........ Food question....

Is there a date on the 360 post? Ohio severely restricted "exotics" awhile ago but it doesn't apply to foxes just exotic cats primates and the like. Foxes need about the same amount of taurine a day as cats which if memory serves is around 500mg which seems to be about the same for anteat...

Re: So.. all you breeders out there.....

These domesticated foxes, on the other hand, have between 30 and 35 generations of selective breeding behind them, with careful monitoring to ensure a lack of inbreeding, and they're not even close to wild--in fact, they probably wouldn't survive in the wild. Sooo.. with foxes having one breeding s...

So.. all you breeders out there.....

i dont plan on doing this for a long while. I want to have at least a couple years experience under my belt with foxes before i decide to go into breeding. So first question: when you decided to go into breeding foxes. What is your motive. I know money isnt the main thing.... and shouldn't be... I ...

Re: Is it or why is it....

I still don't know who I'll get a fox from when the time comes (whenever that may be) Maybe I'll be breeding by then, lol, jk. :icon-wink: :P There are many great options though, and it just comes down to your preference. Amanda is in Utah, so she would be close in proximity and therefore...

Re: Fox living 100% outdoors vrs Indoor pets......

What's the point in having a fish if it just lives in the tank and can't sleep with you in bed? Not all pets are the same. Fish aren't dogs foxes aren't dogs. I know obvious but at the same time it's really not for far too many. People imagine an outside pet forever alone and the owner just throwin...
