Re: Taking a kit from the wild to hand rear it?

Someone offered me a wild fox kit for £150-£200. Giving that he could find one without it's mother around and so it's eyes closed so it's not torment for the fox kit as it grows. If it's eyes are shut then it won't know the difference between being wild and captive. It would be very hard to find a ...

Re: Does anybody own a seal or sealion?

I've heard good and bad about the license. I haven't even tried applying yet as I'm not looking into getting any animals that fall into the DWA at the minute. Maybe in 3 or 4 years or something.

Re: Ferrets, Fennecs

Ferrets kill rabbits so there is no doubt it could kill a fennec.

I have 2. One is soppy tame while the other still bites and holds on. Both been brought up the same way. All animals have different personalities.

Re: Every question I have about red foxes.

I meant the part fence part wood runs in that link you gave me :) But I was going to buy one of them dog cabins too, insulated of course for the winter :D. Oh the enclosures that are part shed? If so then yes, those work but you have to tell them you don't want the bars on the panels for the run an...

Re: Taking a kit from the wild to hand rear it?

As far as we know genetically, unless you are talking about the Russian domesticated silver foxes there is no difference between the red foxes in the grounds of my house and the red foxes within my house so I personally do not see a problem with taking one from the wild if the choice is that it com...

Re: Every question I have about red foxes.

Andy does not have a website, he does not normally deal with the public but I always tell him when I know of people who want kits. With the run you will want to be careful as around the doors of those there is about a 2-3 inch gap which a fox can easily get through. That is why I don't use those. Y...

Re: Every question I have about red foxes.

Haha I have been there! One of my friends went to Durham university and lives in Hartlepool (if that's where the power station is? I could be being blonde). Dave from Park Exotics does deliver, my friend Andy kidnaps my partners Prius and he delivers and a woman down in Portsmouth does too I believ...

Building your own enclosure questions.

I have recently been searching for welded wire mesh panels and found some that are 8ft x4ft. How would I make a 12x12 or a 12x 8 enclosure?

Re: Taking a kit from the wild to hand rear it?

I dunno. I suppose I was a bit wrong but what it boils down to is I wouldn't take a wild kit. Especially whilst there are breeders out there. As to the "wild animals" part, I was assuming there was a distinct difference between the tame fox kit and the wild fox kit. I raised wild cotton t...
