Re: Kaida the Green Cheek
Glad he's settled in and you both are happy. ESA only protects you for housing. A landlord can't refuse to let you stay with the bird(most colleges can though as far as dorms). There's not really a legit registry for them but you get a note from your DR. https://www.animallaw.info/article/faqs-emoti...

Re: Coyote-legal States
Missouri allows them with a permit but they can't be free inside a home, so outside enclosure and visits inside would be on leash. It looks like you can have them with a permit in Nebraska but they do want proof it came from a breeder or other legal means. They are allowed in FL with a permit as wel...

Dog Held By Scruff
Of course their title is held by neck but it was just the scruff to control the dog when it freaked out. I see animal control do that on video quite regularly. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6699751/Dog-groomer-caught-CCTV-holding-squirming-pet-scruff-neck.html?ito=facebook_share_article-h...

Re: Weird Blood Levels
Sorry, that was for Neofelis because she said her dog's face swelled up and I knew I had seen that when looking at tick issues. It stuck with me when I saw it because when Pua had her illness long ago, her whole head swelled up at one point. They have to test for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever specifi...

Re: Weird Blood Levels
I was looking at diseases dogs can get from ticks and one did mention head or face swelling but I don't remember which and didn't find it just now, but I saw that when looking the other day because of Beaker dog's weird symptoms.

Re: Weird Blood Levels
Sorry. Been dealing with my own dog being sick from "Atypical pancreatitis" He's feeling much better but still not eating willingly. That's weird about her crying again, maybe felt something similar to when she was ill but was actually not it and much less but just panicked, that would be ...

Re: Weird Blood Levels
Sometimes low levels of potassium can actually lead to rhabdomyolysis though that would be rare. The potassium being normal could be sign it's not that severe or wasn't that advanced when the blood was drawn. The main sign in blood work is elevated creatinine phosphokinase along with the history of ...

Re: Weird Blood Levels
Rhabdomyolysis and pancreatitis can go hand in hand, so is likely from too much exercise all at once but since you found a tick you can run a test for lyme just to be sure.

Re: my beagle?
It depends where the mass is. If it's not too deep they could do a needle biopsy but if it's big and deep they might want to take it out then send it to a lab to test if cancer or not. But some locations if it's attached to something important like the liver or something they might not be able to do...

Re: my beagle?
With the blood count plus feeling a mass it is probably cancer, only 100% sure way is to biopsy it but that will be expensive. But if there is no mass then maybe autoimmune, which is a genetic issue. I don't remember her blood work but Kat(cat) got to just laying around and had her seen and vet foun...

Re: How To Keep My Dogs Away From Flies & Mosquitoes?
I haven't done it but citronella is supposed to be easy to grow but freezing kills them so you would have to plant annually or have them in pots and bring them in during the winter.

Re: How To Keep My Dogs Away From Flies & Mosquitoes?
The best mosquito traps are the ones that use propane because the scent it puts out makes them think it's an animal to bite so they go to it, but that's not all that good for the environment. Keeping your property dry and free from a lot of foliage can help some since they mostly eat plants, except ...
