Re: Coydogs

As long as it's contributing something of value it's fine to reply to old threads. It's just a problem when people reply with no value to a bunch of old threads like "cute" or something, then it's bumping the old thread needlessly and clogging up the ability to see actual new things, only ...

Re: laika or greenland dog breeders?

You could probably find a breeder in this group https://www.facebook.com/groups/klokkersua/ found some don't know if legit or reliable or anything though https://www.sthughsmountainkennel.com/northern-hunting-dogs http://www.blueridgebordercollies.com/laika.htm http://www.shelmapackkennel.com/conten...

Re: Sick fox?

Also owls and other birds of prey take kittens and small cats all the time so there's no way to be sure the fox is to blame. Momma cats will even eat their own young if something is wrong with them. I was unfortunate enough to see this happen as a kit.

Re: Sick fox?

It will keep coming as long as you are leaving cat food out that it can eat. They are all about taking advantage of easy meals. It wont likely hurt adult cats since it's a harder fight. Catch and fix the ferals then there will be no more kittens to eat and it wont matter if it's around. Otherwise yo...

Re: Should you breed your fox?

I don't think any current breeder has kits proven free of any genetic issues through tests. Some have a decent track record of healthy kits and happy customers but would love to see breeders get more serious about this issue. It's on the list as someone doing tests and keeping track of offspring's i...

That sucks. If there's anyway to inform the vet himself I would. He needs to know how those he has hired are acting.

Should you breed your fox?

If you are thinking about breeding you should stop and think about why you want to breed first! Do you want some cute kits to raise? Just like with dogs this is NOT a good reason. I'm sure it's part of every breeders motivation but it can not be the main or sole reason. Do you think selling kits is ...

I thought maybe you were Europe. Fennecs are more available in Japan so that might be an option. Just be sure it's allowed by the housing rules.

Re: Fox or dog

Even if you buy the apartment someone else owns and manages the building and they have to keep all tenants happy, odor and noise could still be an issue. They could say you have to get rid of him or move out. It will be hard to move if you own this place but can't stay in it. If possible buy a small...

Re: Fox or dog

I don't recommend foxes if you rent at all but an apartment is about the worst rental situation. Neighbors will complain about the smell and any noises and foxes indoors are very destructive even if you are there all the time because you can't literally be watching them 24/7 and crating them is crue...

Re: Loki the fox's owner Noel Castillo will be getting a new fox. And it is an arctic fox.

It's not common in arctics but it can happen in any species if they get stressed. Neighbors doing construction or even mowing their lawn could do it or a huge storm or an inexperienced mom just freaks but apparently he lost all of his arctic litters this year so it was probably some big scary event ...

Re: Loki the fox's owner Noel Castillo will be getting a new fox. And it is an arctic fox.

He's Picking him up Wednesday. The arctic liter died so he is getting the glacier from a late red litter as a last minute change. Did he mention the who the breeder was for the arctic litter? I assume not, but can't hurt to ask. Though, I thought arctics were born during June and July months. He ha...

Re: Sleeping in cage

They shouldn't be caged. They could be closed in a large enclosure or room but some do let them stay free, it can be hard to raccoon proof a whole house though.
