Re: Need Advice for Raising a Raccoon

There is no legal way for you to have her in your state as a pet(Being an admin I can see your IP but don't worry regular members can't.). Your state has permits for captive born animals you buy from breeders. You can not legally keep one from the wild. You need a personal possession permit which ha...

Re: wild fox question.

Yes it was awful and I of course felt guilty for not letting her in sooner but we had done it all the time and I didn't realize she was at risk. Hawks can not fly off with much weight at all as they weigh less than 3 pounds themselves but their claws are big so they can kill larger things like rabbi...

Re: wild fox question.

How devasting for you to lose your cat to a coyote. I am so sorry you had to endure such a bad experience like that. sadly, that is how predators work, they go for the throat first. I would think if your neighbor was feeding the wildlife, that should have been enough. your dog was too small to face...

I found this order form for last year. https://www.henryscheinvet.com/docs/default-source/landing-pages/companion-vaccinations/2017-advance-early-enrollment-detailer.pdf?sfvrsn=e2196373_2 Apparently if a vet preorders through this program purevax distemper ferret and recombitek rDistmper can actuall...

Re: Arms vibrating hugging toy or my foot

It might lesson but might not stop. My neutered dog still humps the plush wolf sometimes. It's not a problem long as he doesn't start doing it obsessively. So it's okay to let him do it but if he does it to you or something you don't like you can direct him onto something it's okay for him to do. Hy...

Re: Anal Gland issues

Maybe the pumpkin and probiotics will work. Beaker's food topper has probiotics and fiber in it so that could be what helped.

Re: Anal Gland issues

Looks interesting. I'm not sure about the one ingredient "quercetin" https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/mnfr.201700447 Beaker dog was having some anal gland issues but he was able to express them himself by licking. He doesn't do that any more after I added this https://amzn....

Re: wild fox question.

my heart is broke after the fox killed my peacock. he was such a great peacock. he tried to protect all the birds I have. I totally understand as I've been there myself in the past. In high school we lived in a tiny town in the mountains. I would let my cat out and she would just sit on the porch a...

Re: Cryptorcid/spay lumps

14 days is not super long. The average is 7-10 days but worse infections may need it longer. There is no set time when it would cause resistance but stopping it before the infection is fully gone is more likely to allow the bacteria to develop resistance than continuing to give it. Since it's shrink...

Re: Big-Eared Oppossums

Yes. He gave a lifespan of 10 years for his woolly and four eyes. I'm sure a lot of the variance in life span found online has to do with a variety of care people give. After checking his profile I see he does have a public page and this would appear to be one of the woolies so since this is public ...

Four eyed opossum aren't uncommon though I think most are imports but some are breeding them. I think the bare tail woolly opossum is rare, I just know the one person raising them.

Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

Even single cells have been shown to react to external stimuli and singnal eachother chemically. Do you mean too suggest that a single cell can be aware? In order for something to respond to something it has to be aware of that something, so yes. We know how awareness works in animals. We know that...
