Re: Looking Fore Diet Advice

Since this thread went more heavy on the diet than the other duplicate thread I changed the title instead of merging them, so it will be less confusing. Hope that's okay. I could always change it to something different if you want.

Re: UVB bulb

I researched the light issue when working on getting a fennec. Instead of a light I just give him fish high in vitamin D, like dehydrated salmon bites and fish skin chews.

Using ESA and service animal laws to keep exotics?

This comes up more than it should so I thought I'd make a specific thread addressing it. Service animals(SA) are federally defined as dogs and mini horses. So no other species are protected. Emotional Support Animals(ESA) only have protections for housing and transportation. So while you might be ab...

Re: My 7mth old Coon is coughing/gagging occasionally but getting more frequent, help?

You can get strongid OTC. You can most of the common wormers. But they are best for treatment and I normally get it from the vet after a diagnosis but have a couple of times treated dogs on my own who ate neighborhood cat poop and got an obvious case of worms but I chose to use panacur instead. It's...

Since a lot of the discussion centered around lab grown meat, this article should be of interest: https://www.ecowatch.com/lab-grown-meat ... _1wQno24O0

Re: Need Advice for Raising a Raccoon

Yes usually the vet will want to see the permits. You might get lucky and find one willing too see him but you never know when someone seeing him might not like it and report him. Some people have had the vet tech or another client in the lobby call a report in even when legal, because they didn't k...

Re: Need Advice for Raising a Raccoon

There is no legal way for you to have her in your state as a pet(Being an admin I can see your IP but don't worry regular members can't.). Your state has permits for captive born animals you buy from breeders. You can not legally keep one from the wild. You need a personal possession permit which ha...

Re: wild fox question.

Yes it was awful and I of course felt guilty for not letting her in sooner but we had done it all the time and I didn't realize she was at risk. Hawks can not fly off with much weight at all as they weigh less than 3 pounds themselves but their claws are big so they can kill larger things like rabbi...

Re: wild fox question.

How devasting for you to lose your cat to a coyote. I am so sorry you had to endure such a bad experience like that. sadly, that is how predators work, they go for the throat first. I would think if your neighbor was feeding the wildlife, that should have been enough. your dog was too small to face...

Re: Arms vibrating hugging toy or my foot

It might lesson but might not stop. My neutered dog still humps the plush wolf sometimes. It's not a problem long as he doesn't start doing it obsessively. So it's okay to let him do it but if he does it to you or something you don't like you can direct him onto something it's okay for him to do. Hy...

Maybe the pumpkin and probiotics will work. Beaker's food topper has probiotics and fiber in it so that could be what helped.

Re: Anal Gland issues

Looks interesting. I'm not sure about the one ingredient "quercetin" https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/mnfr.201700447 Beaker dog was having some anal gland issues but he was able to express them himself by licking. He doesn't do that any more after I added this https://amzn....
