Should you bath your fennec fox?

The short answer is no, you should not bath your fennec. To elaborate you should not give your fennec a full bath. Their fur is much like rabbit fur and it will soak the water up like a sponge if submerged and soaped and take a very long time to dry. This can lead to matting of the fur and fungal sk...

Glad you were careful. I understand wanting to help. I would too. May have been a head injury since by the road but no way to know for sure.

Re: Help!! Found coon on road

They could be very sick and could get you/your family sick This is true. Just last year a lady took in a found baby raccoon. She and her family and lots of friends and neighbors all came to see it and play with it. Then it got really sick and she finally called a rehab and it turned out it had rabi...

Re: Bos Indicus

Sorry, not me. It is slow. People prefer FB over forums, mostly. I still prefer forums because the info is a bit more organized and a lot better archived for better info sharing.

I'd love to have goats again someday but don't think I'd ever do cattle.

I'm sorry for your pain.

He did get 3 years he wouldn't have if not for you. I know that doesn't help much now, but in the long run, remembering that will.

Re: Five Hills Farm

We do have a birds section that includes domestic birds with a subforum for fowl but you can use birds or fowl. https://sybilsden.com/bb/viewforum.php?f=3 We used to have more categories but there wasn't enough posts to warrant it being that way. Ratites do have their own though as there used to be ...

Re: Average lifespand of exotic species

I still have Aurora but I don't plan to get any more. Anteaters are too expensive and I don't have the heart for it now. They are so prone to major health issues. That's part of why I got the fox, they are usually nice and healthy till old age. I do miss anteater hugs though. Speaking of foxes, the ...

Re: Dog Held By Scruff

Thank you both for replying. Glad you agree. It was obviously necessary to get control of the dog. @Juska It's even sillier to get upset about the puppy. Not only do mom's pick them up that way but their bodies release calming hormones picked up by the scruff, which is why they generally hang limp r...

Re: Leucistic Fennec

Possibly another leucistic fennec. She said he's not a year yet and sometimes one will be lighter and darken with age but looks like the other one did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M9tkTihtto

She's not a breeder but it's cool they are starting to pop up.

Re: Kaida the Green Cheek

Glad he's settled in and you both are happy. ESA only protects you for housing. A landlord can't refuse to let you stay with the bird(most colleges can though as far as dorms). There's not really a legit registry for them but you get a note from your DR. https://www.animallaw.info/article/faqs-emoti...

Re: Coyote-legal States

Missouri allows them with a permit but they can't be free inside a home, so outside enclosure and visits inside would be on leash. It looks like you can have them with a permit in Nebraska but they do want proof it came from a breeder or other legal means. They are allowed in FL with a permit as wel...

Dog Held By Scruff

Of course their title is held by neck but it was just the scruff to control the dog when it freaked out. I see animal control do that on video quite regularly. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6699751/Dog-groomer-caught-CCTV-holding-squirming-pet-scruff-neck.html?ito=facebook_share_article-h...
