Re: Rant on a thing
http://kuow.org/post/sloths-lizards-anteater-other-exotics-limbo-after-sanctuary-seizures The attorney for the owners is now petitioning for the animals' return on the grounds the seizures were improper and unjustified. The issue is headed for trial next month, although the owners may try to get a j...

Re: Ripping Out Fur
Poor girl. Sounds like it wasn't infected at least. May need to make the opening bigger so she's not scraping it while it heals. I had to prop the lid of the washer open a bit among other things while waiting for Aurora's tail to heal when she pulled/scrapped a couple large pieces of skin off it a c...

Re: Baby Thylacines
They were lovely pets. http://www.wherelightmeetsdark.com/index.php?module=wiki&page=ThylacineAsAPet I would love to have one. People who are against exotic pets should think about the world we'd be living in if more thylacines had been domesticated rather than hunted. Thank you. That's some in...

Re: Ripping Out Fur
Just a regular antibiotic ointment would be fine.
Sounds like it's due to them ripping mats out. It would be hard to rip a whole chunk like that out if not. They can get mats in the under coat and look and feel okay on top.

Re: Nutrition - I think I want a Fennec Fox
No but the USDA site has all that as well(and probably where they got their info). https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/ You click start search then you can search by nutrient or food. I just search by food and get the complete run down on all nutrients. You want the value per kg but basically you can just ...

Re: pekin ducks
Ducklings and Goslings do not take heat well, so be sure not to overheat them. They like a temperature of 90-92 degrees for the first 3 days, then 85-90 degrees for days 4 to 7. Thereafter, drop the temperature by approximately 5 degrees per week until they are fully feathered. But with the light y...

I don't really know anything about peacocks. Maybe he thinks he's a turkey now. Do you have any females there? He may have gone looking for a mate.

Re: Loki the fox's owner Noel Castillo will be getting a new fox. And it is an arctic fox.
I wish he would have considered another breed of fox. I agree with Mary, artics do not do good in the house. artics do NOT litter train like reds do. so he will have lots of clean up and lots of smell in his house, in conjunction with an unhappy fox. icon-sad guess, he will find out the hard way. i...

Re: Loki the fox's owner Noel Castillo will be getting a new fox. And it is an arctic fox.
Yeah that's my concern too. A gray would have been a much better fit for him and still looked plenty different. We've had numerous examples in old members here who tried to keep arctics inside and it went terribly wrong due to their getting aggressive inside, and age didn't seem to help either with ...

Re: Louisiana State Vet school
Sadly there are a lot of stories like this. Like the rescues just decide since you didn't take them with you, you must be a bad owner, but there are tons of other reasons a person might not have gotten their animals out.

Re: Frozen soft furred mice as feeders
Thanks. That price isn't too bad though the shipping might be if I weren't also ordering chicks from them or something but will keep them in mind for future. I'd also like to try some frozen anoles at some point.
