It's been a long time since I've posted here, been keepong up with his Facebook page and Instagram though. Let's see, I'll give a quick run down. Charlie is 2.5 years old now, male and was neutered at 18 months old. He was also microchipped and has his ears tattooed for ID, just in case, when he was...

Raccoon Article

Last week I wrote an article on raccoons. It is about them not making good pets, and directed to the people who dont give any thought about the commitment they are. I would love to know everyone's opinion on this article. So far I've gotten a ton of positive reviews and several rehabbers have been s...

Red Fox Breeders FL

Good afternoon! I am looking into red fox breeders in Florida. We're debating adding a fox kit to our family in a couple years but I want to make connections and have a relationship with the breeder prior to bringing a kit home. We already know the requirements to own a fox in FL, already have our c...

Charlie the Blonde Raccoon

Hey everyone! Yesterday Charlie went to the vet for his anual and to discuss with the vet about neutering. At 19 months he weighed in at a healthy 10.2 lbs. The vet has two raccoons herself, and has been doing rehabilitation for years. I was honored when she complimented me on his temperament, over ...

Marking q and Charlie Update

First of all, Charlie is doing wonderfully. His socialization is still solid, he loves our new pup (and Old English Sheepdog 6montha old now) and loves his other two doggie mates. He's still doing wonderful with a wide variety of foods and no food aggression to speak of (other than an accidental can...

Re: Charlie-coon

Pat, in my state I am allowed to bring him into public but it costs me an extra $50 a year for a special permit. Same rules apply though, if a bite or scratch is reported than I have to give him up. Its unfortunate, personally, to think of that but it is what it is. I am very keen on the ideal of so...

Re: Charlie-coon

Wow, he seems really well-socialized. I'll bet he loves the walks. I strive desperately and very carefully to make sure that he is very socialized with people. Unfortunately the only place I cannot bring him for socialization is the vet's offices because only particular vets can handle him and I'd ...
