Re: my beagle?

I hope Lucy is continuing to do well! I've been getting more and more worried about my Cinnamon. I'm almost positive (based on what the vet said and research I did myself) that Cinnamon has an enlarged spleen causing his chronic pain. Poor guy sometimes breathes heavy, he doesn't like his stomach to...

Re: Snake Nose Bumping

Soooo, today was the day that we put our Corn Snakes in together. The reason we got a second snake? Our male, Jack, would try to escape constantly and wouldn't eat for weeks during the spring. We got him a girl and it really helps. They are together for like a week and than Jill goes back to her cag...

Re: Arrival of Tiny the Fennec Fox

Welcome to the forum! So glad you could join! : ) How exciting! Sounds like he's getting wonderful care. I don't own a fennec, so I'm not much help there, but I can say, what I understand of UV lights, if the purpose is to expose them to UVA and UVB for health reasons, the light has to be just a cou...

Re: my new duck

My momma hen would stay with her babies in the basement (she decided to go broody during the winter). Her disabled daughter also lived most of her life down there. I had a number of chicks, including a few disabled ones, that lived in my bedroom to get the care they needed. They really liked to try ...

Re: my new duck

She sounds super cute! I had a couple chickens that had to come inside (when the weather was cold (for mom's and babies) or they were injured or sick) and I always liked it. Chickens and ducks make great pets.

Re: my beagle?

We haven't gotten the foot pads yet, but basically you're suppose to stick them onto the bottom of the dogs own paw pads and they provide a better grip. Boots just don't stay on their feet.

Re: my beagle?

Hopefully the new medication helps Lucy to feel better. Cinnamon's chronic pain is most likely just due to his old joints and back. The pain meds seem to be helping (he was in a great mood today, very active). Along with the medicine we're hoping to get him "foot pads" that help him grip t...

Re: my beagle?

We talked to a few of our vet friends and they said it sounds like Cinnamon has chronic pain. We're trying him on Rimadyl (a pain medication that's suppose to be safe for long-term use). He's only been on it a couple days, but so far he hasn't had any of his "bad days" despite having gone ...

Re: my beagle?

My dog Cinnamon just turned 13 and he has been up and down recently. He's the one who hurt his back a few times. Some days he is just so happy (almost anxious he's so high-strung) and other days he just lies around and looks so sad. His stomach has been hard and tense, I think more from pain than an...

Re: my beagle?

The prognosis for an Auto Immune Disease really depends on the kind of disorder. Do you know what kind of Auto Immune Disease she has?

Re: my beagle?

Cedar was I think 11 at the time. We still have his brother, Cinnamon (my baby boy!), who is going to be 13 in March, so he was fairly old (he didn't look or act it though). Cinnamon is are oldest dog. Esther, Kitty and Gerbil are all about 12 right now. Our two young dogs (only a couple years old) ...

Re: my beagle?

I could tell something was wrong with Cedar (the dog with the mass) because the way he would stand up and lay down wasn't right. You couldn't see the mass (it was inside of him) but something was just wrong with the way he would lay down or stand. We took him to the vet and they did an x-ray and the...

Re: my beagle?

It's so hard. I'm so sorry that you guys have to go through this. Our last dog we lost, Cedar, has a mass in his stomach. A friend of ours is a vet and she actually removed it (it was huge). He passed a few days later from post-surgery complications. This means the surgery worked, it was likely some...
