could anyone post this on their Facebook, or whatever they have for media. It is for Lucy (my beagle) She is totally blind from cataracts in both eyes. She can get surgery, but, it cost $1000.00 per eye. Even if I got one eye done, it is better than nothing at all.

Re: Breeding & USDA questions

Well we did decide not to breed, end of discussion. Because if we did, I would want more space to be able to take foxes back should there be a problem in their new home. The likelyhood that I’ll have that much property anytime soon is not realistic. Also, fencing our property is just not realistic. ...

Breeding & USDA questions

Breeding questions I have a few breeding questions. I read that people use breeders instead of pets because the fox will be aggressive after you pull the babies. Anyone heard of this happening in reds? My second question is do you think it's essential for a fox to be bottle fed by owner? If so what'...

Re: OK Weird Question . . .80% ?

Are we talking body odor or urine odor? Spaying made no difference for either in my first fox. Adult male cats produce a very distinct and strong smelling. If they are neutered, regardless of age, they lose this odor. Since foxes have similar glands I have always wondered if the same would be true o...

Re: Need advice please... Urgent

Hi Mary! For the bottom of the enclosure we use welded rabbit fence. That apparently is NOT strong enough, and after a summer of digging in two corners she ripped through a few spots in the wire in October. We filled them and put pavers on top and she has left them alone but I feel like she is so sm...

Nice post, thank you. We are planning to build nellie a new enclosure this spring/summer and really wanting to get it right the first time. I will be posting my ideas for y'all to give thoughts on when we get closer! I'd really like to encourage people who get a baby to yard train it as best you can...

Re: Breeding through a fence??

My boss's parents breed shih tzus. The thousands of dollars type of dogs. Many of the buyers them bring the pups to our clinic because they get a little discount. These are the kind of people who call if the dog sneezes or doesn't poop in the morning like it normally would. High maintenance clients ...

Re: I'm very much contemplating weather to move houses or to give Bo a better home

I totally understand both sides of what you're probably feeling. Im songlad to hear you are going to try and keep him. My first fox, Annie, was rehomed when she was 1 1/2 - 2 years old. She was the light of my life, I was 18 or 19 when I got her and lived with my parents still. I really had no idea ...

Re: Breeding through a fence??

Crud! Nellie's had at least 1 visitor and I didn't think much of it, however I found out through facebook that a lady that lives a few minutes from us has a fox that got loose. I messaged her to let her know we have Nellie outside here and that I would keep an eye out for him and when I'm outside ca...

Re: Need advice please... Urgent

Any news on the fox? There is a woman nearby who's fox has gotten out and so I'm keeping and eye out for him and calling for him. Hoping he might come visit my Nellie. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I think you're probably right that the move prompted her to try and get out from a spot sh...

Breeding through a fence??

Anyone ever heard of foxes being able to breed thru a chain link fence? I'm assuming no since they can't mount but our girl has had some visitors recently so I'm feeling a little worried.

Re: Pictures of my girlie, finally!

Thank you!, She is such a good girl now. We were worried when she went through the aggressive phase after being weaned. But I kept telling myself my last fox did that too and she ended up being a sweetie. Thankful we stuck it out!
