Re: SMALL SPOTTED GENET

Best to post a wanted ad in https://www.exoticanimalsforsale.net/ I'm assuming you've done your research. If you haven't though, make sure you do... Genets are a big commitment. The user Buggle here owns one. She wrote an article about them, which isn't a full blown care sheet, but a good start: htt...

Re: New York state is not legal for foxes(other than fennec)

That makes a lot of sense. I always figured it was the case; common sense dictates it.

I do remember speaking to a man who kept a few pet foxes in NY and attained a permit because he harvested and sold their shed fur and urine. But that was a few years ago.

Re: Baby Thylacines

Adorable babies. I wonder how they'd be as pets? I'm curious. Maybe one day we'll uncover a hidden population of them, and breed them enough to safely enter the pet trade. Wishful thinking though, haha. They were lovely pets. http://www.wherelightmeetsdark.com/index.php?module=wiki&page=Thylaci...

Re: Vega Thread (Pics, Updates, etc.)

Been forever since I last gave an update! Vega is doing great still. He's dialed down on the coati nose blowing, but he still likes to bring his food into my lap or onto my shoulder to eat, and he's a very messy eater. He prefers to be indoors sometimes, and outdoors other times. He's very res...

Re: Pet Foxes 2018

I'm considering getting an arctic this summer. First, I have to expand Vega's outdoor enclosure by another 10 feet, just to give him more room to run around for when he's full grown. I've cleared out some of my forest with the help of my stepfather. Plenty of room for another 10x10 or 10x20 enclosur...

Re: Contemplating Ori's color

This sorta became the tamandua color thread so I'll drop it here that someone had a albino tamandua born in the US and NO it's not chasingtail so be nice. But it's not public info so I feel a bit bad even posting this but it's cool that there's hope for some rare colors of some species. Woah, that'...

Re: Pua has passed on

This is very sad to hear... Pua was a fighter until the end though, and I know you did everything you could to keep her happy and healthy. 12 years old is impressive, especially for a pet tamandua, and you and her showed the world what an amazing bond you had. Thank you for doing so; Pua shall be fo...

Rest in peace, Loki.

Been following him for years now. Noel is a very nice guy who was happy to chat with me about foxes and exotic pet ownership in general.

I wonder if he'll get another fox some day?

Re: BOBCATS. To declaw or not to declaw, that is the question

Personally, I would not recommend declawing a bobcat. Besides from the negative effects on the animals health from doing so, anybody who meets your animal will subscribe to the "Oh yeah, exotic pet owners declaw/defang their animals to make them safe" mindset. From my point of view, I woul...

Not a bobcat hybrid- but claimed lynx hybrid.

What a beautiful kitten. It looks a lot like it has lynx in it, although I'm skeptical.

Re: Spoke to usda officer regarding confusion

People in the minkenry community are like this too- adamant that you don't need a USDA license to breed and sell mink, no matter how much proof you show 'em. Some people just never listen.
