Intact prairie dog

Watson is almost 5 years old. When I rescued him, he was about 8 months old so, I didn't bother neutering him. From what I read, it didn't matter at that point. Well, he stinks. I bathe him but, the very next day, he smells the same. I wash his bedding every 2 days. He isn't caged. He wonders around...

Why do some males hate females

I have 5 cats. 4 males 1 female. My female is very quiet and low key. I have a Male that is the same but, he hates the female. Hisses and attacks her. She is so nervous around him. If he is on the porch, she won't even go outside. 5 years ago, I had 2 Male cats and the same thing happened. I brought...

Re: Rash on face

Oh Pat, I'm sorry for the confusion. It's my husband that has the rash not Yatzee. I came here asking if a person can develope a rash from a raccoon. My husband's doctor has treated him with everything and nothing works. He tried unscented lotion and it made it burn and get worse. I can't find anyth...

Re: Rash on face

I can't even find a picture on the internet of anything that looks like what he has. Months before this rash, he was getting the circles that appear with shingles, looks like ringworm circles also. He would soak the areas in the hot tub and they would go away in a few days. He was given antifungal m...

Re: Rash on face

He said it is worse than poison ivy. It looks like psoriasis but, the doctor said it wasn't. I thought shingles, again the doctor said it wasn't. His skin is thick and dry and itchy. Over the counter creams, steroid creams, anti itch creams, none of them do anything for it. I would think if it was s...

Rash on face

Is there a rash people can get from a raccoon? My husband had been dealing with a rash on his face and neck since November. I'm worried it's from Yatzee. He's been to the doctor but, they don't know what it is. He's been given antibiotics, pills and injections. The rash hasn't gone away. I keep our ...

Re: Weight management

I've tried cooked and raw meat. Chicken, deer, hamburger, dead rats, he just plays with them cause they are squishy. Cockroaches, raw and cooked fish. Raw chicken. Shrimp. Marrow bones, not a fan. Sausage. Raw and cooked pasta. He likes dry ramen. I give him the little pieces left in the bag. Less t...

Re: Weight management

I give him a mix of grain free whitefish and grain free chicken. It's 4HEALTH brand. I can't get him to eat any fresh meat. Very rarely will he eat fruit. Maybe a grape or a blueberry once in a blue moon. There are days when he eats almost nothing all day and then there are days when all he wants to...

Re: Weight management

I do scatter his food around. I spilled some one time filling his dog food container. Needless to say, I didn't have to scoop any out that day. Maybe what I will do is, not feed him his kibble in the morning and just offer fresh food. I'll leave it for him until he realizes that's all he's getting. ...

Weight management

I feed a mix of grain free whitefish and grain free chicken. I have been cutting back slowly on the amount of food I'm feeding but, it doesn't seem to be doing anything to help lose weight. If anything, it seems like Yatzee is gaining! I play with him almost every night and definitely every morning....

Re: Help!! Found coon on road

I'm a sucker for an animal in need. Becareful to still be cautious. It is still a wild animal and you don't know it's history. If you have gloves, I'd wear them. Just in case. If it were me, I'd keep it warm. Feed dog food, not cat food. It's good it has an appetite though. Offer all kinds of food, ...

Re: Upper respiratory infection

Yeah, I took one. Thankfully they didn't want to charge me to see the others. Everyone seems to be a lot better. I find myself worrying a lot over Yatzee. Sometimes I just want to keep him in a glass case so nothing can get to him lol. I hate dealing with upper respiratory. It spreads so quickly. Th...

Re: Upper respiratory infection

Oh no. He isn't sick. My cats have been playing musical upper respiratory. I have been keeping them outside because of it. My son keeps letting his favorite cat in and I was wondering if a raccoon could catch this from a cat
So far so good.
