Re: Upper respiratory infection

I think I got to it before anything happened. I've had a cat show up after being gone for 6 months! I saw his eyes were watery and started him on antibiotics right away. I've kept the cats outside. I've still been sparaying the house with lysol. So fat, Yatzee has been ok. No signs of infection and ...

Upper respiratory infection

I have 2 cats that have an upper respiratory infection. I have them on medication, started yesterday. Can raccoons catch that from cats?

I have them separated from Yatzee, but hubby is concerned.

Re: Keep busy treats

I didn't put a board together but, I did get 2 of those springy door stoppers you screw into the wall. He loves them. I screwed them above his bowl(we call it the cereal bowl or muffin tins of because his blubber muffin tops over hahahaha)on his cat tree. He loves it. When it springs really hard, he...

Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem

Yeah, Yatz is neutered. He was fixed at 6ish months old. My goodness, he's going to be a year old in March. Do they become more lazy as they get older. How's Chloe act at 10? Scooter? I don't cage him. He has my bedroom and the hallway, which is half the size of my bedroom to wonder. My bedroom is h...

Keep busy treats

I give Whimzees. I get mine at PetSmart. The medium size one. 24 count. It's basically a vegetarian chewy. It's good for the teeth too. I give Yatzee one while he's being good chilling in his hammock. And, I keep two on my headboard shelf. He usually takes them under the bed and stays busy for a whi...

Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem

Do you keep him inside? Yatzee is just like a puppy. We call him PBC, Puppy Bear Coon Poor thing. We never call our animals by their names. I wonder if Yats is confused. I try to use his name but, I find myself calling him puppy a lot. The only time he gets cranky is when he's tired or is made to ge...

Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem

Yeah he's fixed. I think back in September. Everything of hubby's gets placed somewhere up high. Raccoons are so neato. Definitely keeps you on your toes. I've been cleaning our bedding once a week and that has definitely slowed the peeing issue. Instead of small puddles it's been just a few drops o...

Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem

Ok. Hubby has developed a neck rash, we think it's from stress but, I don't want to take any chances with giving Yats his pillow case. I will when hubby is healed. Today however, I witnessed the strangest behavior. What I saw today was him rubbing his penis on my hoodie! I thought he peed on it beca...

Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem

That's the funny thing. He lays by hubby's head at night. Lays under his arm and wants to be with him when he is home. He wants to be with him so much so that I kinda get jealous lol. I spray hubby's bedding with fabreeze every day and that kinda curbbed the peeing but, he still does it. I like the ...

Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem

Well, I thought I had it licked but, he keeps peeing on only hubby's stuff. Pillow, blanket..keyboard.

At least he isn't peeing randomly I guess. Hahahahahaha

Re: Dry shampoo

Cedar is bad for squirrels and I've never seen anyone like pine for any animal, even for dogs. When I had my pet rats and for the baby squirrels I rescue I use rabbit food for substrate. It's less dusty and absorbs well. It's 50lbs for 10$. Hmm, maybe I should give that a try!! I'm curious if the ca...

Re: Dry shampoo

Yeah, now that you mention it, his fur is different. I'm really glad he likes being brushed. I try to brush him everyday. Not overly but, just to remove any she'd or litter he may have in his fur. I actually started putting Watson in the outside cage I use to let squirrels go. I fill a litter box wi...

Re: Dry shampoo

Well, that mystery is solved. Hahahahaha

Avoid cedar, aromatic pine and certain other wood shavings, because they contain resins that can be irritating to your prairie dog's skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.

Re: Dry shampoo

They are like groundhogs, I wonder if they do smell similar. I've never smelled a groundhog. They are cute though and big!! I've been ruffling through Yatzee's fur where the mats are. They are like little bee bee's. Some of them just pull out. I almost have all of it gone. I'm glad I switched brushe...
