Re: opinions on home made dog food

In terms of getting her more carbs, I used brown rice and sweet potato in my fox's diet. I know in dog food they use ingredients like whole grain corn, wheat, and millet, but I've never been a fan of those ingredients for dogs.

I hope she get's better quick, beagles are such wonderful dogs (:

Re: Raising coyote pup

Hello! I am very jealous of your dingo, he looks beautiful in your profile picture (: You seem to be doing pretty much everything right, but I will try and answer your questions: 1. It sounds like you're doing pretty well with socializing him, I would just keep doing it as much as possible. If he de...

Re: Possessive Raccoon

Have you had your husband or daughters feed her at all? When I had a fox he hated my dad. I got sick for about a week and my dad fed him every morning, and that helped a little bit. I don't have any experience with raccoon, but I've heard training them is similar to training foxes.

Re: What's it like being a breeder?

Speaking purely as a hobbyist breeder of reptiles, it's very stressful, flaky non-customers are the bane of your life. I'm sure that holds true for breeders of all species. I second this! I hobby bred holland lops for a couple years, and as fun as it was, it was also far more stressful than you wou...

Re: How To Prevent Escapes

I have always thought is good to have a short leash attached to collars as well as harnesses when walking, incase they slip. I just mean a little piece of nylon that clips to their collar, and then to the leash that is connected to the collar. It would just be a safety precaution, since foxes can sl...

Re: Best supplies for a new fox owner

It's great that you're willing to wait! It is so much less stressful to the fox if they are allowed to have their own outdoor place. For car rides, I would make sure for the first ten or so times you go somewhere, take your fox somewhere really fun. Bring plenty of low drive treats too. I took my bo...

Re: Best supplies for a new fox owner

Are you set on Arctic? I've heard they are similar to reds, and your roommates might be not appreciate the smell and destruction. A gray fox might work better, unless you can give the arctic an enclosure. Foxes may or may not completely litter train, and I never did it, so I wouldn't know what litte...

Re: Can a Fennec, Red & Klee Kai coexist indoors

Don't worry I always fully intended of having my animals registered and accounted for wherever I lived. I am obviously getting written permission, to add a clause in my contract. I also browsed and selected two lawyers for cases where I'd be wrongly persecuted or should I run into any obstacles aga...

Re: Can a Fennec, Red & Klee Kai coexist indoors

I personally am not questioning that you researched, its just that no amount of research can equal experience. You asked a question, and several people who own and are familiar with foxes have given you an answer. You do have some valid points. If you were able to get a large fennec and small red, t...

Re: Can a Fennec, Red & Klee Kai coexist indoors

Okay, I just want to say it is unlikely that you will end up with a calm homebody fox. They may calm down when they are older, but as a species reds are usually high energy and excited. They are also extremely loud during breeding season, so it would be difficult to have them in an apartment. Also, ...
