I will definitely try the training first thanks!! I definitely don’t want this to happen again. Her tail was so pretty before.

Re: Matted Tail

I feel bad she hates going to the vet but I know she won’t let me cut them out. What kind of things should I do to prevent this from happening again?

Matted Tail

Our fox had the most beautiful, soft, and bushy tail. I thought she was losing hair in her tail since I was surprised with a golden retriever puppy for my birthday (2 months ago) and she likes to get her tail. They love playing with each other. But last night when they were playing on the couch I wa...

Re: October Crazies

Thank you to you both!! I’ve been looking into getting her on a proper diet. She mainly eats the blue wilderness chicken dog food and we give her chicken gizzards and hearts when we can get them. She does like dried pineapple those are her treats so didn’t know if it was the sugar in them that might...

Re: October Crazies

I’m just not sure what to do. She used to be extremely happy when we got home and would want us to pet her and make her happy noises. But since that one day I guess he scared her it hasn’t been the same since then. She’s more lovable towards me since she bonded with me but I know he misses being abl...

October Crazies

This is our first red fox. I’ve read several discussions on the “October Crazies” for first year foxes. I thought we dodge it with our fox since it was about two weeks into October until she started acting different. It wasn’t until when my boyfriend put on a pair of carhardt overalls then she becam...

Outside training/Leash training

Does anyone have any tips on leash training your fox? I take ours outside and let her walk me around but when I try to go where I want she doesn't want to go. I know she needs to be trained to walk with a leash. Also, I've seen foxes being able to go outside and play without one. I'm so afraid that ...

Re: Litter training/play bitting

Did any of your foxes play in it? I feel like she plays with it more than she uses it. She uses it sometimes and I put her poop in it to show her where it goes.

Re: Litter training/play bitting

When we are away at work she is in a cage until we build her enclosure (hopefully soon), should I put the litter box in her cage? I just feel bad since it will take up half the cage.

Re: Enclosures

Thanks for the info!! I wasn't sure if she needed to wait that long to go to the vet again or not. Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions!! This is our first time owning a fox and we want to make sure she is happy and healthy!!

Re: Enclosures

Yeah I wasn't sure at what age would be ok so I figured I should ask. We are planning on getting fencing that she can't squeeze through. We got her from tiny tracks and they said to wait until she's at least four months to go to the vet again. Should I take her sooner? Thanks for the comment!!
