Re: Freed Fox looses leg

Dang that's brutal, I hope that yeah, it doesn't happen again to any fox (OR ANY ANIMAL EVER). They don't deserve that.

Just a reminder, I'd always love to hear anyone's experiences with their exotics (cough Foxes cough)!

Re: First Experiences

Ah I see. Yeah, I was surprised because my research had stated that foxes should not be handed out until 6 weeks or so

Re: First Experiences

I got my first baby at 3.5 weeks. He was an arctic, and when I got the call that he'd be ready in a few days I almost cried. I'd been calling the breeder once a week since March and arctics are born more towards June lol. So we planned our trip to indiana and took a week off vacation from work so I...

Re: First Experiences

Wow, 12, that's incredibly young! I'm glad you were able to help your fox find a good home with you. What was his name? (Also if anyone else would like to share their story, I'd be happy to read it!)

Re: First Experiences

How young were you? I know it's a really personal question but I'm really interested in that. Also, your fox still doesn't associate well with guests at adulthood?

First Experiences

Hey, I'm just sitting around studying (foxes instead of psychology) and I know this doesn't really help with my research too much (because "Every fox is different" - Tamagirl or Ash or Pat [I don't remember who said that, sorry] ) but I'd love to hear anyone (everyone)'s experience with th...

Re: Red fox-Different Diet, Time of year?

Tysm for the advice, and thanks for the recommendation of the gray foxes. I'll look into them too!
Even with the difficulty though, I believe I'd still want a red though

Re: Red fox-Different Diet, Time of year?

So only the Spring is affected by this? I'm really uncertain about spaying, due to the mixed answers given in other posts by different members. While I do not plan on breeding, I'm kind of on the fence on it still.

Red fox-Different Diet, Time of year?

I was reading on Gizmo's diet page, and it stated "Smaller foxes will need to have their portions adjusted accordingly, and intact females will have different dietary needs depending on the time of year." While "smaller foxes" makes sense (as they would obviously need smaller por...

Re: Single Person / Family Fox? + Pickups

How often did you train your fox? What kind of trears work?

Single Person / Family Fox? + Pickups

About Red Foxes , I've read that they're very "single-person" oriented. So does that mean that they typically enjoy the company of only one person? I'm sure you fox owners trained your foxes to be friendly to guests and such, but do they stick to you mainly? Also, in training, picking up a...

Re: Bringing home a new fox?

Having a concrete floor makes sense but I'm not sure about connecting the fence in general and to the ground (research time I guess)
