could anyone post this on their Facebook, or whatever they have for media. It is for Lucy (my beagle) She is totally blind from cataracts in both eyes. She can get surgery, but, it cost $1000.00 per eye. Even if I got one eye done, it is better than nothing at all.

Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

I try not to be too social with them. otherwise, I would have a flock of animals I could not afford to keep feeding. That kinds shows that you love animals too much to be eating them. In my opinion, if someone couldn't stand to "pull the trigger" so to speak, they have no buisiness orderi...

Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

I'm not going to attempt to pick apart the bulk of your points as we'll just be going around in circles with both of us having valid points. That's a strange argument to end a debate. I'm not willing to grant that your points would be valid without even knowing what they are. However, if you don't ...

Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

For millions of years, we have evolved from omnivorous origins so in that sense, yes, animals are something that humans are not wrong to be viewing as a food source. I find that completely irrelevent. For millions of years we have evolved from animals who couldn't talk, write, or cure illnesses. We...

Re: Hi everyone - greetings, background, my fuzzy fam

I apologize for not reading the article that you linked. Upon reading it however, all that it contains is speculation of a problem without anything to back it up "Large populations of foxes could prove detrimental to the survival of nesting waterfowl, including geese and ducks as well as the ne...

Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

Even single cells have been shown to react to external stimuli and singnal eachother chemically. Do you mean too suggest that a single cell can be aware? We know how awareness works in animals. We know that joy and suffering both live in the brain and are the result of neurons interacting. Where wou...

Re: Hi everyone - greetings, background, my fuzzy fam

All of that makes sense. Virginia possum are non-native to the West coast as well but not invasive since they cause no harm. Absolutely, that means they have to cause harm to be considered an invasive species. Do foxes and coyotes cause harm in area where they are "invasive?" This only mak...

Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

The fact that it's impossible to be perfect is not an excuse to not strive to be good. That's like saying the pursuit of knowledge is pointless because we can't know everything. I don't think very many people would agree with that. Also, shoe me any real evidence that shows that plants can suffer. O...

Note: This post was written out of order and I was interupted multiple times, so it may not flow perfectly. If anyone needs clarification on what I mean at any point, I will be glad to provide it. Also, the spellcheck on my Google Chrome hasn't been working for a while, so there may be spelling mist...

Re: Tick paralysis - anyone have experience with rehab?

He seems very happy and spoiled under your care. I think it's definitely true that he doesn't know he's missing out, because he could never walk. In fact, he probably thinks he's living the life because he can walk with help now. That being said, even animals that develop disabilities later in life ...

Re: Grapes

If I understand Mary's post correctly, she is not claiming there have been any documented cases of grape toxity in raccoons, she's reccomending caution because toxity has occured in related animals, such as dogs, fennecs, and skunks. As far as I know, grapes are acutely toxic, at least for dogs. Mea...

Re: Deffinition of Emotional Support Animals will be changed

I completely understand what you mean. It sucks that people who really need support animals might not be able to take them on flights. Here's another perspective, though. I have Asperger's. If I could use that fact to ensure that my pet gets a safe flight, I wouldn't hesitate. It wouldn't be for my ...

Re: Grapes

Fennecs aren't very surprising because they are canids, being foxes. Skunks on the other hand are much more worrying, because they are far closer to raccoons, than they are to canids. Neither skunks nor fennecs seem to be as omnivorous as raccoons, but I don't really think that matters. If grapes we...

Re: Tick paralysis - anyone have experience with rehab?

I'm glad to know he's doing alright. I admit I've never personally been around a raccoon, but from the videos I've watched, adult coons don't seem to be very vocal. I've only ever heard cubs vocalize, really. Adults just seem to grunt and growl. Even if the condition wih his legs never improves, he ...

Re: What Exotic Pets are legal in Washington State?

I guess I can't edit the original post anymore. I do have something more to add, though. Here's the 2 laws that I'm aware of: http://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=16.30 "Dangerous Wild Animals" law. http://apps.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=246-100-197 The health code section on ...

Re: Deffinition of Emotional Support Animals will be changed

I'm okay with abusing loopholes if they have to fly with the animal either way. I wouldn't want to have my pet in the cargo hold. I've heard many cases of animals dying when flying that way. I think an animals life is more important than whatever right the other human passengers feel is being violat...
