Shipping livestock

I am not sure where to post this.

Has anyone shipped livestock (goats or sheep) from west coast (WA) to east coast?

Thanks for any information!

Re: Love to help people with horse questions!

Actually I would like to network and facilitate a conversation about horses' inter-species behavior. In relation to cattle- is there a tried and true method for blending a pasture harmoniously (without the horses bullying?) In your opinion, is this a quality that will be lost once they pass adolesce...

Melatonin?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using melatonin as a sedative for travel? I was flying a month ago, and Lana was way too stressed and filled with energy in the walking to the gate process. It does not work with our dogs, but I wanted to see if there was first hand experience and ad...

Re: Camel ?'s

Has anyone ever had a moose...does anyone know off hand how they fall with most state's laws. I know that white tailed deer in most places cannot be 'pets'...even rehabilitaters need a special permit for them.

Roseate Spoonbills

Does anyone know who might be working with these animals, either in rehab, in tracking, or just captive breeding?

...any online mediums suggested as a place to look?

Thanks!

Re: Found a baby Robin what to do?

If the little guy is feathered and hopping around, yes leave him be. I would call your local wildlife center, just to reassure you and give you a voice-opinion of what to do/not to do.

Re: Preferred goat breeds?

Yeah. That is sad to hear about the rotten temperament. I've worked a lot in zoos, aquariums, and travel vet to farms and I will never not be surprised at how a pregnant mother will change one way or another...makes the 'nature vs. nurture' argument come to the forefront of the mind.

Re: Preferred goat breeds?

darkhallows- if I may ask, what do you use the ND for? Milk? how long have you had her? I have heard that this breed can be nasty (does) until or while pregnant...just random from a friend who has experience shared with me. Not sure how mainstream that is though.
