Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem

that's how I "inherited" Lily, the cat from hell according to my coons. I have no idea if it will work,, but maybe worth a try- Sounds like Yat is either "replacing" your hubbies scent with his own, or a dominance deal. Background: Sometimes a foal is orphaned and a surrogate mot...

I thought my coons were on a diet

I was almost getting worried, for the last couple of weeks they haven't been eating as much, or so I thought. Today I saw Chloe opening the bag of dog food and helping herself, leaving a 1/2 full dish for Scooter.

Re: Dry shampoo

Chloe occasionally gets in the shower with me but aside from that I've never bathed her or Scooter. Unless Chloe has recently gotten into my perfume ( she loves scents) they just smell like warm coon so haven't really needed a bath. I did bathe Chloe when she was little and on the bottle and also wh...

Re: Capstar

I used this a couple of yrs ago when I had the same problem, cat bringing fleas in and getting over run. If I recall correctly, I used it a couple of days in a row and after that once every so many days. It worked and so far I haven't seen any effects from it. I just used it for a couple of months u...

Re: Tick paralysis - anyone have experience with rehab?

As long as he doesn't get too fat, I don't see any reason not to feed him "people" food. You might want to give him a vitamin/mineral mix just to ensure he's getting what he needs. I feed my coons ( Older) taste of the wild because it comes in small pieces and they like it. I add vionate a...

Re: My 7mth old Coon is coughing/gagging occasionally but getting more frequent, help?

Chloe does the gagging/coughing sometimes, Scooter never has that I've seen. It worries me,especially as Chloe is getting older and I know that coughing could be a sign of heart disease, but she's always done it, so I don't know. Haven't been able to find anything wrong with her,so far.

Re: Picking different sleeping spots

Mine have 3 or 4 different places they like to sleep. Chloe prefers high places and Scooter sleeps under (or in my box springs) my bed a lot. I've noticed as they age, my babies get more & more nocturnal. As it gets colder outside mine are less active even though they aren't exposed to the cold,...

Around 6 months is usually considered the optimum time to have a coon neutered.

Re: First time raccoon parent

Its a problem usually easily treatable by your vet. About neutering, I've had both neutered and intact males, with mixed results for both. If your baby were a female, I would say definitely neuter, but with a male i'm not sure it makes a difference.
