Dripping wouldn't be a behavioral deal. Hope the antibiotic works. You might try giving her dried cranberries as a treat as well.

Re: 4.5 month old blind pet raccoon pacing in circles

Congratulations! That is just too funny. Usually urination problems if not due to infection are a hormone problem with spayed females- easily treated by a vet. Did he find any signs of infection? For the right person coons make a great pet, you are both lucky you found her.

Re: 4.5 month old blind pet raccoon pacing in circles

Probably peeing out of stress, but the vet can check for infection. I'm really afraid if you continue to let him outside unsupervised that you are going to lose him and he won't survive. Its getting colder ( where I am at least) and if it is where you are, he is going to be looking for somewhere secu...

Re: Raccoon Dilemma

Thought I should add. When one snarls and the other back off, the snarler won't chase the other. The snarl, ect. is a "back off, you're too close" or "i want what you've got" signal and whoever is dominate gets the prize. In my experience that is the extent of coons fighting. So u...

Re: Raccoon Dilemma

About your fears of him not getting along with your Aunt's female. If they don't get along then they will ignore each other for the most part. A coon isn't like a dog, they don't seen to seriously fight. If (when) he approaches her, she will growl,snarl,&/ snap at him and he will most likely bac...

Re: 4.5 month old blind pet raccoon pacing in circles

If its a boy, he will have a penis like a dog only smaller. Because he is blind, get in the habit of talking to him and otherwise making sure he knows when you are approaching him, when he's older he will bite if startled. Does it work if you put him on your lap while you're on the computer, maybe w...

Re: Coooing in the mornings

I have an intact male and a neutered female, both adults. Nearly every night if one gets up before the other, the one that's up goes around the house crying, I'm not sure if they are calling for the other or what but they don't seem to do it when they are together. Cooing is usually a young coon thi...

Re: Any body from Florida?

Sue the vet.Big Time. Unless its already too late sue to have the euthanization (?) stopped. Coons cannot be born with rabies, they have to been exposed to it. This is an example of a perfectly reasonable law being misused. This vet's incompetence has cost the life. Don't use that vet's office, even...

Re: Biting

I wouldn't encourage rough play. Play to you could be perceived as bullying to her. Irregardless, when she gets too rough I would stop playing and let her calm down. Deweys Mom is right- a dog makes a really good playpal for a coon, another coon does as well but 2 coons raised together won't be as t...

Re: How to reintroduce Orphan Racoon to wild

Do you have a friend that lives in a rural or wooded area? I say this because the easiest way to "rehab" back to the wild is to continue as you are until he's old enough to take care of himself and then start letting him go outside when he asks. He eventually will stop coming back, its bes...

Thanks for the link. I had thought denim was the best option, but the ripstop would be better and cheaper if its tough enough.

Re: Help PLEASE

She doesn't bite she scratches through the coverings. I have pieces of foam everywhere. She was just a baby when I had the waterbed but she didn't mess with it- maybe because it was heated. I'm afraid to try the airbed but maybe i could try an air mattress before spending on an air bed.Maybe the noi...
