Re: Ohio anyone can legaly take your animals

"If the owner or custodian is unknown to such person, and cannot with reasonable effort be ascertained by him, such animal shall be considered an estray and dealt with as such." I think that can be argued that knocking on the owner's front door or leaving a note first would be "reason...

Thanks for the update Pat, I just wasn't sure. You can never be too careful these days... Or maybe I'm just paranoid, I dunno. lol

FDA: 'Bone Treats' Causing Dog Deaths And Illnesses

https://www.fda.gov/forconsumers/consumerupdates/ucm208365.htm "Many dog owners know not to toss a turkey or chicken bone to their dog; those bones are just too brittle. But the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the risk goes beyond that, especially when it comes to the “bone treats”...

Ebates thing at the top of the message board?

There seems to be an ad of some sort in the header at the top of the message board (on every page). It's above the notice that the board might be down for a while which I know is supposed to be there. Wasn't sure if Pat put the Ebates thing there or not so I wanted to ask. I took the : out of the UR...

Re: Raccoon or other exotic limb amputation

If cats can recover from surgery and still be a pretty typical cat with only one front limb (climbing/jumping/etc), I'm sure a captivity-kept raccoon could.

"Friday night, animal control officers were called by city police after dispatchers received a report of a cheetah running loose in the city, said Tom Hubric, ARL interim executive director. The ARL is the city's animal control agency. ARL personnel took her in and confirmed the 1- to 2-year-ol...

Re: Bill to remove exotic species from the endangered species act

Considering the "worst" that can happen is the bill dies and doesn't get passed this time, pretty sure we can "relax" after we send communication to our reps... There's not much more we can do besides spread the word. If the bill dies we try to have it brought back to the floor a...

Re: What is needed to start a small at home animal rescue?

You don't really "rescue" fur farm animals, unless you're an animal rights group doing it illegally. Just FYI on that; you don't want the FBI to come and raid your sanctuary. And, you're probably not going to be rescuing a lot of large carnivorous animals, though irresponsible fox owners a...

Re: Bill to remove exotic species from the endangered species act

Got a reply from my Pennsylvania congress rep. I mentioned H.R. 2063 and also the fact that perhaps allowing more exotic pet trade in our state could bring more jobs/money into our economy, which they mentioned as well. Rep. Cartwright is known to support the environment already so I would hope the ...

Re: Making Foxes Legal In California

I'm assuming you're younger. You don't have to stay in CA forever. Maybe someday you can move to another state and get a fox then. There will be foxes being bred then and legal in other states.

Re: Can a Fennec, Red & Klee Kai coexist indoors

After reviewing my mass collection of videos on two screens and comparing size differences of most in relation to the furniture and owner, I'm convinced the size difference between a red and fennec is subjective. A full size adult fennec next to some reds seem to be only a few cm apart in volume. Y...
