Re: Dog has lump on ribcage, won't lay down, hunched back

Conte is still his little rambunctious self. He needs a haircut soon once it gets warmer out, but otherwise healthy and happy as can be!

Darla couldn't have had a better momma. She did have a good, long life with you.

Re: UGH - Smooshed faced chihuahuas

Just because a dog is a mixed-breed doesn't automatically make it "healthier" than any purebred dog ever. That's fine if you don't care for owning them but not every single purebred dog is going to have health problems. My mother's 13 year old Schnoodle has intervertebral disc disease. Did...

Re: Rugose Stag Beetle

I know people use them to fight and therefore gamble in some countries. Maybe that's why. Though, this is a native species to North America.

Re: bobcat hybrids?

"Main Coon Imported Father"

If they can't even spell Maine Coon correctly I wouldn't be giving them 5 grand for anything. There haven't been any confirmed breedings of neither bobcats nor lynx to a domestic cat, so I wouldn't believe anyone claiming they had kittens.

Re: How to mark an insect?

I think beekeepers mark their queens with nail polish. Bees don't shed though lol. Do your roaches have wings? Maybe you could mark the wing part; I don't think wings get shed with exoskeletons.

Re: I might get another fox and question

If Emo wasn't getting so old I'd offer to bring her and let her go on a rat hunt... She loves killing them. Rats are probably too big for your foxes and cats to want to go after. They can get very large, and they can bite hard and deep enough to cause nerve damage depending on where they bite (even ...

Re: Ohio anyone can legaly take your animals

In PA I believe there's some verbiage about if you have a stray animal you aren't allowed to just keep it. I forget what it says you have to do but you can't just assume the animal isn't owned by anyone and keep it without telling anyone.

Re: Ohio anyone can legaly take your animals

"If the owner or custodian is unknown to such person, and cannot with reasonable effort be ascertained by him, such animal shall be considered an estray and dealt with as such." I think that can be argued that knocking on the owner's front door or leaving a note first would be "reason...

FDA: 'Bone Treats' Causing Dog Deaths And Illnesses

https://www.fda.gov/forconsumers/consumerupdates/ucm208365.htm "Many dog owners know not to toss a turkey or chicken bone to their dog; those bones are just too brittle. But the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the risk goes beyond that, especially when it comes to the “bone treats”...

Ebates thing at the top of the message board?

There seems to be an ad of some sort in the header at the top of the message board (on every page). It's above the notice that the board might be down for a while which I know is supposed to be there. Wasn't sure if Pat put the Ebates thing there or not so I wanted to ask. I took the : out of the UR...

Re: Raccoon or other exotic limb amputation

If cats can recover from surgery and still be a pretty typical cat with only one front limb (climbing/jumping/etc), I'm sure a captivity-kept raccoon could.
