Why does it matter if your pet cat's coat isn't "show" quality when what you're really going for is health and face shape?

"Dogs, including several suspected wolf-dogs, seized from Bentleyville home" + my email to the article author

http://www.observer-reporter.com/20170823/dogs_including_several_suspected_wolf-dogs_seized_from_bentleyville_home I've bolded items for those that just want to skim through. Basically, this article was written about potential wolf dogs being seized in PA, and a PGC officer saying that they are outr...

Re: Counter surfing

You could try one of those motion-activated things that spray an aerosol can (they make them for air fresheners originally). So it makes a hissing noise if they go past it, maybe it'll scare them off the counter 'cause it'll go off every time even when you aren't there. They sell them specifically f...

Re: The Calvary Group

Glad to hear that was sorted out, without any animals being taken away permanently or euthanized. I hope the USDA/state/local authorities take this as a wake-up call that they can't just do things like that to people and their animals.

Re: Stop assuming human evil

Someone shared on FB a dog that needed urgent adoption, it was on death row and lined up for euthanasia. Go on that original post's comments and there are people upset and saying things like "ppl who euthanize these animals should b euthanized themselfs!!!" How ignorant can you possibly be...

Re: Cougars as Pets

I don't own a cougar, but "laid back" compared to other big cats isn't saying much, other than they would probably be less inclined to suddenly react to something. I'm sure you've seen videos of people walking cheetahs or cougars on leashes or people being inside an enclosure with them. Th...

Re: what is the easiest exotic cat to own?

"Easy" is kind of subjective. People who enjoy exotic cats are enthusiastic and willing to do more to provide for the animal than a regular pet owner. There is a degree of sacrifice you have to make when committing to own any exotic animal, over a "normal" pet like a cat or dog. ...

Re: Namira hurt her paw or is having a reaction? (cat)

No longer limping! Her foot seems to be back to normal except for she still picks it up off the floor when she sits. I think this is just a reflex left over from the limping, perhaps.

Re: Namira hurt her paw or is having a reaction? (cat)

Yes, I used stretchy vet tape with bitter additive. Unfortunately I did not get the kind that's actually sticky, just the kind that sticks to itself (not fur). So I'll have to put some actual sticky tape around the top. But I think I'll leave the bandaging to the vet, if she is still limping later t...

Re: Namira hurt her paw or is having a reaction? (cat)

If the initial licking was caused due to injury/allergy, and that thing is gone but she's still irritated, maybe bandaging her foot for a few days might help it heal all the way? I think the hair growing back could be a sign of it being caused by licking, then as it got less irritated, she has licke...

Re: Namira hurt her paw or is having a reaction? (cat)

I tried bandaging her paw last week, but she shook it right off. I'd need to tape the bandage around the top of her leg with adhesive tape/duct tape to keep it on, and even then she'd probably figure out a way to get it off, haha. The spray I got says it is safe if licked so that's why I got that. B...
