Re: Fuzzy Greetings!

Aaaw. She's so cute! Congratulations on getting your fox baby. You and I sound very similar, lol. I did reptile education programs for about 2 years for a company--everything from ball pythons to gators. Very fun experience that taught me a lot--especially taught me how to educate properly. Now I'm ...

Re: Pork and Beef

Okay, thank you. That makes a lot more sense. I know it had been talked about here and there in the fox forums a little, but it's nice to have a solid answer for it.

Pork and Beef

I always hear you shouldn't feed your fox pork because of the ash content, or feed beef because... beef is bad for foxes. But what is the real reason behind not feeding these things? I try to understand nutrition, but I'm not the best at it. Thanks! Someone was asking me about these two meats, and I...

Re: Pale Fox

What a surprise, lol! I'm shocked anyone would be passing pales off as puppies. They're still pretty rare, but $1200 seems like the going price. TamanduaGirl is in Oregon and is very knowledgeable about foxes. She has a USDA license, so is permitted to keep them. If you did educational outreach and ...

Re: Red Giant Flying Squirrel

Were they planning on getting one? That would be great if we could hear first-hand from owners.

Re: Red Giant Flying Squirrel

Cute! How cool. That would be awesome to keep as a pet. Though I think it would prefer an enclosure over a cage.

Re: Grey foxes - Hillview exotics

The fox's sleep pattern will change a little to accommodate yours, but don't expect it to be reversed completely. So the fox will still be active at night unless you actively try to wear it out during the daytime consistently. Then it will be tired enough to fall asleep at night. Your fox will have ...

Re: Grey foxes - Hillview exotics

Congratulations on putting down a deposit for a gray! I have reds, but I think I'd like a gray someday since they seem calmer. I think Hillview is a good choice. I agree with TG, invisible fence won't work. If anything, it would likely do the opposite--fox gets shocked, freaks out and runs away. So ...

Thank you for the info! And it's great to hear about an older fennec fox that's still "zippy" and healthy. Nice work.

Re: Where can I get a male raccoon fixed.

Hello, and welcome to the board. It will be difficult finding a vet to treat your raccoon since he is originally from the wild, so is illegal to own. That being said, the first thing you should do is get a furbearing license for him from the state DNR. It's only around $30, and you renew it annually...

Re: Hi, Hi o/

Hello, and welcome. :) We're glad to have you here. TamanduaGirl's website has a LOT of great info. Especially when it comes to caging and diets. http://tiny-foxes.com/?i=1 But if you have questions specifically about fennec care, you can post about them in the fox forum and we'll help you out. I do...

What a nice story. It's amazing how well animals can adapt when they lose something essential, in this case, sight. Glad the little guy is doing well and things are good for him.

Re: Considering a parrot...

Glad you're narrowing down your choices. :) It can be hard to pinpoint exactly what you want sometimes. Especially when you need it to fit certain qualifications, like doesn't make much noise, etc. My mom keeps wanting me to get a parrotlet, lol. She thinks they're so cute but doesn't want to take c...
