Re: my male peacock

I gave up on that runaway peacock. he was spotted near a junk yard. it is across the main road from where I live.
who knows where he would be, and even if I did find him, I can't chase him, or net him.

Re: Tick paralysis - anyone have experience with rehab?

I put some cooking oil on the ticks and they let go. He didn’t have a lot of ticks but he was very small. The ticks were very small too. thats good to know. the coconut oil, also assume the cooking oil rubbed on the fur often will deter the ticks? what did you do with the ticks that fell off? I hop...

he was a marble fox, and lived to almost 13 years old.

Re: pekin ducks

thank you mary, appreciate your info. I put them in the large dog cage today. they seem to be doing OK so far. I do have a heat lamp, but, they seem to go into a box where I have straw for them. they don't look cold. the temp on the other end is about 50 degree. I put plastic up where it was missing...

Re: Tick paralysis - anyone have experience with rehab?

When he was very small he almost died from tick paralysis. The vet was surprised he lived, and that he is still alive now. The vet also thinks the tick paralysis caused stroke-like symptoms. Since he had not learned to walk before the ticks hit, it is more difficult- he has to learn to walk, not re...

pekin ducks

I just got 3 young pekin ducks. not sure how old they are. (I had one when I was a kid) pekin ducks seem more friendly than mallards are. right now, I have them in a box in room. I want to put them outside in a large dog cage. it is on the front porch, I have blankets on the cage but, will put a 125...

Re: my male peacock

mary, yes, I do have a peahen. they got along good. that is what is throwing me off why he left here. I also have chickens, which he got along with. heck he would even sometimes go in sybil's enclosure. (she don't bother any of the birds) she even shares her food with them  I will put a lost p...

Re: Loki the fox's owner Noel Castillo will be getting a new fox. And it is an arctic fox.

I wish he would have considered another breed of fox. I agree with Mary, artics do not do good in the house. artics do NOT litter train like reds do. so he will have lots of clean up and lots of smell in his house, in conjunction with an unhappy fox. icon-sad guess, he will find out the hard way. ic...

Re: Quick question about contacting people

Do you know if there are any other people that I should contact? or is she my best option since I'm in the UK? you should at least try to contact her. she if very nice, but I am sure she is also busy. never hurts to try. even if you had to wait longer than you wanted, the wait will be worth it. the...

Re: Tick paralysis - anyone have experience with rehab?

DM I had a cat that had a wobble, they need to be pulled out. they can be deadly if not taken care of. However, wobble vs tick infection will be two different symptoms. the wobble are more visable, vs a infected tick bite. If the raccoon is having a hard time walking, then it does sound like a tick ...

Re: Kit found outside, need help

Pat, I said in another thread, that she is in the UK, she just needs to get her lisence and she should be good. The bf is the working on getting it now, but it isn't required there, he just wants to be sure the vet will take her, he has to build her pen, that's for certain, it is definitely the mos...

Re: Kit found outside, need help

Mermaid, I can understand how hard it would be to turn the kit over to a rehabber. However, the sad part, is if, the dnr finds out, they most likely will kill her  I wish there was a way to get her legal, but, I don't know of any. unless you can find a breeder that would give you a bill of sale...
