Re: Wild caught rodents / Florida

I assume you mean rats or mice? I would think the last place you would want a wild rodent is from the wild. they are harder to care for. also, you don't know if they carry any disease. some rodents carry ticks, some ticks are really bad and can be transmitted to a dog, cat or any other pets you migh...

Re: my beagle?

Prednisone is a steroid and helps inflammation. So it might help a little, yeah. I agree, but, it is not fixing the underlying issue whatever that might be. I hope to find out from my other vet. this is the 2nd day of Lucy's prednisone, no change. I am confused about her blood count. I hope to hear...

Re: my beagle?

I have decided to switch vets (same place). I made an appointment with the vet I have known for years, and treated all my animals. he is the vet that found the lymphoma cancer in my female coonhound. everything he said about her life span was almost on target. he also treats my raccoons, foxes and e...

Re: my beagle?

I had Lucy at the vets yesterday. the vet thinks she has a mass of some sort in her stomach. she don't know if it is cancer or not. the vet suggested an X-Ray. (an additional $125.00 I declined because of the expense) the vet prescribed prednisone and another script. she said, if the meds don't work...

Re: my beagle?

If she's from the typical Amish BYB then it was almost to be expected that she'd end up with health problems. Sad but true. Pennsylvania is the capital of puppy mills and BYBs after all. She could probably live with meds but maybe talk with the vet about that. See if she'd be able to live longer wi...

Re: my beagle?

thank you gitabrooks for your reply and information. I appreciate it.. since Lucy came from an Amish kid. I doubt they took good care of Lucy's mother and father. I could be wrong. I just don't know. the vet just hit me with so many health issues, it don't sound good. I am so upset. I love that dog,...

Re: my beagle?

she slowed down a lot.I can't get her to go outside like she use to. all she would do is lay around, and sometimes not eat much or nothing. I had her at the vets a few days ago. they took blood work on her.the vet called me today and said she has: decreased blood immune system problem low oxygen lev...

Re: My Black Lab needs to shed some weight!

putting a couple teaspoons of can pumpkin in his food will help fill him up. You can even put some in a ice cube tray and freeze it as a treat. It doesn't have to be a lot just a tablespoon or so. It's also a good treat on hot days. Pumpkin is a great fiber and helps full up the amount of food you ...

Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem

Do you keep him inside? Yatzee is just like a puppy. We call him PBC, Puppy Bear Coon Poor thing. We never call our animals by their names. I wonder if Yats is confused. I try to use his name but, I find myself calling him puppy a lot. The only time he gets cranky is when he's tired or is made to g...

Re: Keep busy treats

some raccoons (at least mine do) get bored with the same toys. so I alternate them. I got my little darlings a busy board. it has all kinds of things on it, (latches and other stuff) they didn't seem to bother with it much. I even have toddler toys that a friend gave me. some they play with. right n...

Re: Ant Problems...

the baking soda and vinegar works as long as it is used where the ants hole is, or if the ants are visible. as for outdoor, the above would apply. there should be an outdoor ant spray also. farm stores or online should sell it. for indoors, I bought a bug bomb. I didn't use it yet. it is suppose to ...
