Re: Scooter

Thanks Pat, Do yours like liquorice? I've never tried that. They didn't care for the dog treats I've tried so far. They do like jerky. Generally I offer them whatever I'm eating when they come around or I call them. Scooters problem with me is usually when I'm standing, I'll try getting down to his...

Re: New raccoon parents need help!

Yes, it took me a while to find a vet to do it. He is not from a breeder so it made it difficult...but late is better than never, right? thank you for your reply it makes me feel a lot better that after he is neutered he will be my sweet momma’s boy again! Patience is key, I know it takes time for ...

Re: Possessive Raccoon

10 months is old enough to release, however, from what I have read, it is a slow process to release a raccoon. in other words, don't expect a captive born raccoon to leave. (if that is what you want to do) if you take your raccoon on walks and she follows you, do this a little further each day. if y...

Re: Scooter

Trefoil, when you give them treats how to you give it to them? sitting, standing or lying down? if you are at their level, Scooter might be less apt to bite. some raccoons can feel intimated by a standing person. I am sure you know raccoons understand words. let Scooter distinguish what a word means...

in conjunction what Dewey's mom posted, I agree with her.

you can also put a few of your already worn cloths items where he naps. (have your scent on it.)

Re: Darla my silver fox died

I'm so sorry, poor Donnie. Can you provide him some distractions? I am not sure what to give him for enrichment. he don't play with toys. I have a bunch in the room. you are good with coming up with ideas, maybe you can think of something. however, foxes are not like raccoons, they don't seem to bo...

albino raccoon found in pittsburgh

https://www.upi.com/Rare-albino-raccoon-rescued-in-Pennsylvania/5581517977808/ I feel bad for this raccoon. they are going to release him back into the wild when he is healed. he will never survive in the wild (especially pittsburgh). if a hunter see's him, he will be killed. I can't tell what what ...

Re: Darla my silver fox died

thank you everyone for your kind replies. when Darla went out to the enclosure. I thought she was up in the top tower. I kept checking up there and couldn't see her. thinking oh heck, how in the hell am I going to get her down if she dies up there. it is hard for a person to get up there. a friend o...

Darla my silver fox died

Found her dead yesterday. she was not dead very long. prior to her dying, I noticed a big change in her. I could tell something was wrong. she was 12 this year. she had a good life. I doubt a vet would have been able to do anything, except put her down. I feel bad for Donnie, I can tell he is upset....

Re: One or two?

it is best to get one at a time. this way, it will make it easier for the fox to bond with you.
then maybe the next year, get a 2nd fox.

only my opinion.

I agree, it is a good program. it adds up, especially around xmas shopping. very easy to use, as you know, we need to go t6o ebates first, then select the store you...
