Re: October Crazies

I honestly never experienced any october crazys with mine. also from my experience, fox don't have the same disposition everyday. at least mine don't. I never got bit or seen aggression in mine. the only thing I know is a fox kit is friendly. but...

Re: HELLO! I need help!

Also I failed to mention I'm afraid to put traps because he had leg surgery a few months ago and his leg is pretty much metal. what about his foot? I am talking more about a foot trap. however, it is something you should know about where he is and stand by and wait.. but, not knowing where he is fo...

Re: HELLO! I need help!

sorry to hear about your missing fox. hopefully, he will come back. put flyers up with a picture, contact everyone you know in your neighborhood. he could be closer than you think. at least I hope so. one of my foxes got out long time ago, he was about a mile away. fortunately, he was near a house w...

Re: I might get another fox and question

Ammonia won't deter rats I'm afraid. If anything, they seem drawn to it. Ammonia and other urine smells mean animals which mean potential food sources. I've had a bit of an issue now we're having a cold snap with rats around my chickens and the bloody things are in and out of the fox enclosure too....

Re: I might get another fox and question

They are probably nesting in the house at this point. A new fox wont be enough even if it does hunt them but there's no guarantee it will. Ideally you would have to find and block off all access points then kill all that are in the home. For a heavy infestation fumigation is probably best. You and ...

I seen this morning they bored a small hole in my kitchen ceiling  I have heard that ammonia deters rats. I thought of putting ammonia around the hous...

I don't know anything at all about reptiles.
however, your info looks like it will be a good source.

you should put your post in a sticky so it stays on top.

Re: pictures of enclosure

Maxy, I know what the OSB is. that is what gary used for the floors on the tower, and it rotted away. I wish I would of thought of cement board back then. if I can get the floors replaced, painted cement board is what I will use. I have a corragated roof over the entire enclosure. makes it nice when...

Re: pictures of enclosure

I think he was referring to the wood used for the nest box. We call it 'pressboard' or 'flakeboard' and - unless it's painted or treated with wood preserver - goes to h*ll in short order when wet or even humidity permeates it. It'll do in a pinch, but for longterm use, definitely 1/4" or even ...
