Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem
did you say Yatzee is fixed? I can't remember. if so, what age? (they should be fixed no later than November of their first year) if not, that is most likely the problem with him peeing. and rubbing his penis on pillow case... raccoons breeding season usually starts in December-March. Many intact ra...

Re: Salmonella Discovered in Answers Brand Dog Food
guess I should not speak too soon. but, have been feeding my cats a little dry purina cat chow, and the canned. so far, they all seem fine. for some reason, my dogs go nuts over the can food. I don't feed it to them, but, sometimes they steal some of the can food from from the cats dish. I do have a...

Re: Are there alternative forms of food for cats?
I've brought this up at the cats' twice yearly vet visits, and I intend to again when their shots are due in January. When my two cats were kittens, they both ate canned food. When they were about nine months old, Hills changed the formula of the food they were eating, and Enoch stopped eating cann...

Re: Salmonella Discovered in Answers Brand Dog Food
Juska, thank you for providing info on this dog food. I just cannot understand how these companies can sell tainted food like this. that is why I fear most dog foods. correct me if I am wrong, but, I think purina never had recall? I know it is not grain free, I feed purina food to my cats. my dogs g...

Re: My Black Lab needs to shed some weight!
I think dry dog food, or even can (not sure about the can) has more carbs in it than it should. carbs contribute to weight gain.
that is why I feed mine cooked chicken and very little dog food.

Re: How To Keep My Dogs Away From Flies & Mosquitoes?
I haven't done it but citronella is supposed to be easy to grow but freezing kills them so you would have to plant annually or have them in pots and bring them in during the winter. I get them worse in my kitchen. I will look around and see if I can find a plant. there are a couple green houses nea...

Re: Animal you are most terrified of
I love scorpions. :) You just gotta know which ones are dangerous vs non-threatening. Some species like the emperor scorpion are actually quite docile. My sister and I are planning on getting one as a pet in a few months. :P scorpions scare me too. almost as much as a tiger. don't know why, guess I...

Re: I think I cured the peeing everywhere problem
I like the scent thing you brought up. Hmm, maybe I should put hubby's pillow case in his bed. I'm going to try that.
that is a good idea.
Yatzee, if you try Trefoil's idea, please let everyone know how it works.

mary,
I heard of growing mint. (which I did try) I don't have a green thumb
however, I never heard of growing citronella, how hard or easy is that?

Re: Animal you are most terrified of
Do worms and human parasites count? If not then it would be... wasps and bees. they count for me. I too hate worms, parasites, wasps and bees. as for animals, I do fear tigers. to me, they are unpredictable. however, a friend of mine had some tigers, I did visit him and was able to pet one of his t...

Re: How To Keep My Dogs Away From Flies & Mosquitoes?
are your dogs outside 24/7? or in and out? flys and mosquitos are hard to get rid of. for flys, you can get a glue strip and hang them. flys will stick to them and die. I think there is also a candle to keep bugs away. I would think the fly strips would help with the mosquitos. there are barn size f...

Re: My Black Lab needs to shed some weight!
I have a female black lab. I know labs are prone to being fat! "Katie" is 4yo and gets fed 2cups of food in the morning and one at night. She stays in the garage all day and gets out when we come home from work at about 3:30 P.M. central. In the summer she runs all the time and swims in t...
