Re: Counter surfing

I think the counter surfing while you are within earshot could be curbed though teaching "DOWN", but while you're away or sleeping, no. My partner made a custom door and closed off the kitchen - they're only allowed in there with supervision. If it is truly IMPOSSIBLE to close the kitchen ...

Re: UGH - Smooshed faced chihuahuas

All of this 'designer dog' nonsense is grotesque and decadent to me, particularly when we're killing
literally millions every year for simple lack of a home. :/

Don't these people understand that these smushed faces are creating breathing conditions?
Good grief.

Re: New raccoon person needs vaccine help!

I have a new vet who has done extensive research into raccoon vaccines in the last six months. I'm going to email her about this and get an answer we can all use. Thank you for helping this baby. ♡

Hoping to be there tomorrow after the car gets out of the shop. If you can make a little list of priority
stuff, that'd be great, cause right now all he knows to do is move the stuff in your coon room and install the swing - he can definitely do more. USE HIM!!

Re: Corso - 0 Me - 1

You should consider making a list, in order of priority, of stuff that needs accomplished.
It can really help to have it on paper, in a conspicuous place! I do this almost every
weekend, otherwise the frigging house falls apart.

Re: Corso - 0 Me - 1

That's Stasi! She hasn't lost any weight through her ordeal, and is enjoying her summer. :)

Blanket? I used a stencil for the lettering and then did a sketch on an piece of wood leftover
from the kitchen floor project. Remember the sign I made you for Sybil's Den? It's the same
as that!

Corso - 0 Me - 1

A certain raccoon has developed an affinity for a certain spot on my living room wall. It's the plaster, or the spackle, who knows with him. After trying to repair the holes half a dozen times, with the holes getting a little bigger every morning, I got the idea to make something to cover it up. So ...

Re: First time Raccoon parents...failing...

LOL, qtips are a favorite target for every one of mine. You could try a gun safe, Fort Knox, or a helicopter for keeping them secure, but no promises!  Biting is a big part of coon interaction and communication. Jude grabs my wrist in his mouth and puts my hand where he wants it. He also ...

Re: First time Raccoon parents...failing...

Seasonal frustration can lead to aggression and neurosis. A coon who isn't going to be able to carry out their natural breeding urges ought to be spayed. Additionally, confinement breeds neurosis, depression, aggression - all unpredictable in their manifestations. Spay, don't cage, and do the best y...

He chopped down our sickly willow tree, broke the trunk and branches into pieces that were a workable size, then attached them to each other with these special screws he loves and an
electric drill. We could totally do this on your property of you wanted - long as you've got a good
chainsaw!

Re: First time Raccoon parents...failing...

Females can be more emotional and reactive. The first two years with any coon involve a lot of you being educated by them in regards to what they like and will tolerate. If she's attacking the collar and harness, it's because she doesn't like it, doesn't want it. I've got four and nobody has ever to...

Re: Raccoon biting !

Every coon who isn't going to have the opportunity to breed should be neutered or spayed by six months. The seasonal aggression, the frustration of their natural urges, it's the right thing to do
for you and them. ♡

Re: Raccoon biting !

I've got four, and only one doesn't bite. Biting is absolutely normal, and to be expected, especially while they're teething. You can angrily snarl NO BITE when you're being hurt, and give the offender a time out of 1-3 minutes. He doesn't have a raccoon companion, so you are the playmate, you'll ha...
