Re: Presenting, her Radiance, Senora Meteora!

Omg, you're gonna end up with four just like me, I can see it coming.
2017, year the coons take over. Once they outnumber the humans in the house,
the dynamic shifts, the circus ramps up! :D

Re: Presenting, her Radiance, Senora Meteora!

Yeah, four is the absolute limit. The cleaning is overwhelming, the vet bills are high. I was clearly laboring under the "baby rabies" when I imagined life with four. Don't try this at home, lol! On an unrelated note, summer has really brought Corso out of his shell. He only has eyes for m...

Re: Rats

They are so cute, the babies are going to be adorable. I'm so sorry about the gender issues, but I'm glad he found his way to you, you have such a good setup, every one of your enclosures is perfect! I'm gathering toys for them as we speak!! I told Stasi all about her doppelganger, here's a pic from...

Re: Presenting, her Radiance, Senora Meteora!

The woman never apologized for the inconvenience, was VERY defensive and hostile when I expressed shock and dismay over her "paperwork mistake" causing me to be told the baby was mine when she was not. I'm not going to contact her again. I'm only angry because I cannot handle five raccoons...

Re: Presenting, her Radiance, Senora Meteora!

Bit of a sordid tale, really. I got a postcard from TT that reads "you are first in line for distribution by sex and color". I calied them to verify and they said unequivocally YES, the black female is yours. A few days before pickup they call me and say no, they made a mistake, she's for ...

Presenting, her Radiance, Senora Meteora!

Sorry this took so long, sharing space with four raccoons has proved perhaps more difficult that I had imagined.   https://files.catbox.moe/mxy850.JPG This is the photo Tiny Tracks advertised. Looks pretty black, yes? https://files.catbox.moe/a0ff7m.jpg This is Senora the very next d...

Re: Raccoon and cat food?

There's a little shredded cabbage and the other thing is quinoa and rice with squash and zucchini. Everybody eats in the same place, but at different times. I put the food down right after Jude goes outside in the evening, lol, so Corso and Charb eat first, then I let Jude know it's there. It never ...

Re: Raccoon and cat food?

https://files.catbox.moe/s8dui9.jpg Here's tonight. The mess is so epic, it defies description. There were two tilapia, but the creeps stole one almost straight from the oven! Do you guys think this is too much food for 3 adults? The rest of the day is just snacks - a few nuts, berries, seeds, etc

Here's tonight's dinner for 3, Senora ate separately.
Watermelon, cabbage, kiwi, cherries, grapes, low cal kibble and chicken+quinoa

They used to enjoy the cabbage raw, now it's got to be steamed.

Re: Raccoon and cat food?

Everybody is eating cucumber seeds today. No idea what that's about, but they have to drill holes
in the cukes, and it looks like effort, so I'm all for it! :D

Do you think it was a litter allergy? We had a similar situation with a foster cat and equine bedding litter. It never occurred to me it could have been the litter!

Re: sybil got a couple new buddies

We were considering a stock tank, but I was hoping to find one used and I don't have a truck anymore to transport. :/ I really regret getting a little car, we used the pickup truck bed WAY more than we realized. Keep an eye on your local Craigslist, I will too. Mike can keep a pump safe from a bear ...

Re: Raccoon and cat food?

High quality cat food is fine for the occasional meal for a wild coon, but it's way too much protein for a house coon. Kibble may promote obesity, even the highest quality, and should be more of a treat than a daily offering. If you can stick to poultry, fish, crayfish, shellfish, vegetables, a litt...
