Re: Killing Feral Cats

Now what I mean by it "not being my problem" is that I would never pay for a trap-neuter-release operation. I'm all for culling, and I feel that's the humane thing to do in this situation. If other people want to try doing a trap-neuter-release they can with their own money. Someone had j...

Yeah, that's what you need, pragmatism and the strength of your convictions. I'm just too emotional. What would have been great would be a hav-a-hart style trap with a squeeze cage attached that you could take out into the field, and a mobile euth kit, which would really only need to be two shots pe...

Re: Garter Snake Injured

Really, just a regular Pennsylvania toad? Guess we got lucky, he turned out fine. :)
Figured they use the 'Dawn' on all the oil slick animals, so it would be safe.

Re: Killing Feral Cats

If you dont have the cold streak, leave the killing to someone else. It will break you eventually.
It's not something you can withstand long term. Are you in an urban area?

The feral cat situation is the most heartbreaking, horrible situation. I've supported a dozen colonies in several different states, and really, the majority of the ferals I've supported are not barn cats! The colonies begin like this: Some nudniks let their cats wander outside at night, unaltered. T...

Re: Garter Snake Injured

Hey there, I had a toad injured by a weed whacker in my garden last year. I used soapy warm water to clean the wound and applied Neosporin (WITHOUT the analgesic, was worried about the weight ratio being so low). Took about 3 days, and it healed really neatly. Good luck! And thank you for looking ou...

Re: Seeking Raccoon information.

Thank you for the reply. I've read what I can find on the internet, I guess my primary concern is being unprepared in some fundamental way. One of the cats will be delighted, absolutely delighted to have a playmate, the other is an ice princess who is likely to be very angry and take the complete av...

Seeking Raccoon information.

Hello! I'm new to the forum and looking for any and all information about what to expect while living with an adolescent, and adult raccoon. I've raised infants who were waiting for a place at the rehab, but feel I'm ready to adopt one of my own. I'm dead sick of saying goodbye! :) The internet is f...
