Re: My Child is a Monkey

I thought Barcraft TV usually showed good videos. I couldn't agree more with this YT comment: Frida Nyberg1 hour ago This "documentary" is a big bunch of bullshit. Imagine if dogs were really rare pets. At most, you'd have some cousin's friend's friend who owned one, or you had see...

Re: Performing elephants have it so rough

Because it doesn't sell. So the media won't show it.
And it dosn't bring donations. So the animal rights orgs won't show it.

Re: Oregon law changes for Native species

It'll be a while yet before we'll get there, but right now I'm looking mostly at North Carolina and Texas, while keeping Oregon as an alternative. :) I want to live by the coast and still have lax animal laws, and of course we'll all still need to fight the bans and regulations away, eve try to remo...

Fatalities?

I've been watching a lot of Barcroft TV's videos of bear owners and trainers, and they seem to me like such docile creatures, like enormous dogs almost. And of course the main reason people get killed by wild bears is not a hunting instinct, but the bear being spooked, or defending a kill or their c...

Re: Jane Goodall

Yeah... and now that you're mentioning physicists, makes me think of an article on Ric O'Barry's "Dolphin project". That guy is full of bull, we knew that already before, but in this article about a pilot whale named Bimbo (1960s), they write "Dr. M. E. Webber, a physicist with an int...

Re: Jane Goodall

She may know her stuff on chimpanzees and other apes, but she's pretending to be an expert on all animals, including dolphins and elephants, and the media is gobbling it up. Because of that, I've lost all respect for her. Just another AR-shill.

Re: Oregon law changes for Native species

@Nimwey: Based on what I've seen, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Delaware seem to be the best states for letting one keep whatever exotics one might want. Florida is a close second, but is also Florida. I can't seem to find anything specific about Delaware, just "you may not keep any animal not nativ...

Re: Oregon law changes for Native species

That did clear it up a bit, but I see the laws are quite murky.
Thanks a lot. :)

Re: Oregon law changes for Native species

I am indeed confused. So non-native species are banned/require permit, but native species "more okay"? I'm not interested in bears, but saw for example that all bears are banned... except the native black. http://www.bornfreeusa.org/b4a2_exotic_animals_state.php?s=or But coyotes are native...

Re: Passing Pro-Exotic laws

Oh no, I've given up on Sweden, and our laws aren't terrible, just inconsistent (you can't have Carnivora, birds of prey or monkeys - everything else goes). I'm mainly focusing on the US not getting any worse.

Re: Passing Pro-Exotic laws

I have long thought of starting an organization protecting pet owners of ALL species. International. It would need to become huge. The thing is, there are millions of exotics owners in the US alone, but they are all so madly divided! No unity or holding hands against the common enemy at all, just &q...

Re: Oregon

This doesn't make any sense. So you can keep native species but not non-native like servals?
In other states it's often the other way around. I've seen southern states where you can keep pure wolves, but no coyotes because they are a native species.
