Re: Breeds

Thank you. He's a fennec fox. Pua anteater accepted him right away once she smelled he wasn't a dog but then he was a jerk to her so she stopped liking him. She just avoided him though and cried if he got up where he shouldn't be. First time he met Aurora anteater he tried to hump her(he was just a ...

Re: Hello all

You would? I'd have to look up the dose but know that you'd have to break it open. The human dose would be way too much, so you'd have to take the proper smaller amount from the contents and inject it with another needle. Even if you did know how to give it safely to a smaller animal like that, try ...

Re: Breeds

Smaller fox species can be kept inside but they do still mark. Arctic and red tend to have issues if kept inside. Arctic more so. Some do get away with reds inside but most move them out after their first year. Fennecs, plaids, swifts, and even grays tend to do well inside but do still mark. Ikigai ...

Re: Hello all

Could have been a spider or scorpion. I found a small scorpion in the kitchen once and didn't even know they lived around here. Could have even been a stink bug they make cat's mouths swell up bad, they don't normally kill but some individuals have worse reactions. Benadryl is be fine to give. I've ...

Re: Hello all

That's a cute ornament.

I understand my Pua anteater died early this year and it still hurts.

Re: Breeds

My fennec is loving but in his own fennec way, not typical dog or cat way. He loves to be petted but he likes to be at a bit of a distance to limit the risk I might pick him up and any movements can send him flying. Lately he wakes me at least once a night contact calling to wake me to pet him. He o...

Re: Breeds

They are still supper rare, and mostly imports. I think there's a breeder or two but not sure who. I know a guy with a pair but he just got the female so they haven't bred yet.

I would love a palid(pale) fox someday. They are really friendly foxes.

Re: EXPANDED DRY DOG FOOD RECALL, Vitamin D Toxicity Warning - 12/3/2018

I gave Beaker some Evolve last month but it was canned, only a couple little cans. Mostly he gets half instinct kibble and half raw but I sometimes treat him to a small can of something. Currently I got him some cans of "I and Love and You" But I have to add a dab of canned back to the fen...

Re: Breeds

I have seen some ruppell's fox for sale but I think right now they are mostly if not all imports but hopefully they breed and we see bottle raised ones in coming years.

Re: Breeds

There are no breeds. Only different species. Red fox(vulpes vulpes) comes in many colors but no true breeds).

That said yes kit fox is a real species but no I don't know of any legit breeders of them. Used to be some swift fox breeders but I don't know of any still breeding those either.

Re: How to properly transport a fox home

The breeder can ship it to you. You pick it up at the airport. You pay everything to them up front including the shipping cost. I've had several animals shipped to me, no major problems just planes coming in late/delayed. They are sent in cargo. It's not as scary as made out. They share the same air...

Re: Hello everyone!

That's good that you've thought about that. It's also great that you are researching ahead of time. I have a fennec and think he's awesome but I waited a long time to get one and my situation to be right for one. Unfortunately we see a lot of rehome red foxes because some jump right in unprepared. N...
