Re: Cryptorcid/spay lumps

In that case, if it's in the same spot, it's probably just scaring from the seroma and shouldn't be an issue. If it's not bothering him and he doesn't have a fever or anything then it seems better to leave it, surgery caused it in the first place so probably better to be conservative and not go cutt...

Re: Cryptorcid/spay lumps

Hyzzie had a "lump" from her spay, it was a hernia. It was only fat in it and not intestine so we watched it and eventually, many years, later it became fixed, before that the fat lump could be pushed back into her but it didn't stay due to the hole in her abdominal wall. If the vet thinks...

Re: wild fox question.

A dig guard is a bit of extra fencing around the perimeter of the fence, that goes out along the ground instead of in like if it was a floor. Going out 2-3 feet on the ground with fence around the vertical fence will prevent digging in. Here's an example though this is just chicken wire to keep rabb...

Re: wild fox question.

You don't need a whole top, you can do a lean out at the top plus some a dig guard and the bottom should keep them out. If you can afford it, running 3 lines of electric around it 2 near bottom and one along the top works well too.

Re: Brevecto is NOT safe

Most likely to see an issue within the first few doses so if the dog has been using it a year or more probably wont suddenly see a reaction. Though there could be a cumulative effect in dogs later in life who do not immediately show issue, especially considering how long it last/stays in the body. O...

Re: Brevecto is NOT safe

I'm using Revolution. I had to have something because the fennec fox is allergic to fleas and natural methods weren't enough. No problems any more. It prevents fleas, mites and heartwrom and most internal parasites and some ticks. It's one gentle chemical that is related to "heartguard" bu...

Brevecto is NOT safe

https://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/NewsEvents/CVMUpdates/ucm620934.htm I cringe every time someone recommends it in the fox groups. "The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is alerting pet owners and veterinarians to be aware of the potential for neurologic adverse events in dogs and cats when ...

Re: 4.5 month old blind pet raccoon pacing in circles

The vet did tell her he was a male but she was doubting that because she saw a slit. So I said the penis(sheath over it really) can have a slit that she might have seen. Will mainly come down to location. If the vet thought he was a boy he probably is since they are set up much like dogs down there.

Re: 4.5 month old blind pet raccoon pacing in circles

The end of the penis has a slit in it. Males should have a penis more belly area, females are lower kinda between the legs like dogs. I think the main question would be how long is he pacing? I'm not a raccoon owner but one of my anteaters in the past would run circles around the coffee table for aw...

Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

Maybe considered a bit more supplement that food but I have some hemp protein powder in the fridge. Not only is it loaded with protein but it's got lots of iron and a bunch of other minerals too. Whey protein powder is another option, long as not looking for vegan sources.

The Piebald was from an ad. Maybe it was taken down. If I saved it, it will be on my computer that's in the shop, it may come back with a new drive.

Re: Hi everyone - greetings, background, my fuzzy fam

The article I linked says they are having a negative impact on nesting birds in Utah but the main issue seems to be that the lack of coyotes allowed foxes to bloom to levels higher than they normally would have been. Trying to balance what we have unbalanced can get complicated. I really don't agree...

Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

Plants react to negative stimuli. They will defend themselves, warn others. They will even react negatively to sounds that can mean danger to them. Trees even communicate and help each other through their root systems. You can even put a plant "to sleep" with human anesthetics. In 2014, a ...

Re: Vegetarianism and Veganism

A cruelty free existence is not possible. No matter who or what you are something dies in order for you to live. That's life, life brings death. Unless you only have herbivores as pets you are not really vegan because animals are being raised and killed to feed your pets, which are a choice and not ...
