Re: Fox Dog Project

Would need to breed for narrower muzzled and smaller noses too. The wider muzzle and larger nose is one of the big give aways to the fox-ish colored dogs being dogs.

Re: Hutia

Babies http://www.zooborns.com/zooborns/2015/09/three-cuban-hutias-born-at-naturzoo-rheine.html and it says a permit is needed to hunt them but that means it would be possible to get a permit so maybe also possible to get an export permit to the US. So there's hope. Now someone with the means needs ...

Re: Nutria legalities

Sorry I was talking about Oregon, not Florida, technically you can get a permit for the prohibited species, in Oregon, but they make it hard to get so not worth it to the average person just wanting a house pet but technically you could have it as a pet(noncommercial reason), but locked up, etc isn'...

Re: Nutria legalities

It varies by state. In Oregon you'd need the prohibited species permit but you need that for a lot of things, so essentially banned unless you have the funds to make a facility to their standards to prevent escape etc. But they aren't invasive in all states and some have no laws about them.

Re: Poseidon - The Dubia Roach

Thank you. He is calmer than most males so that's good. I get them crawling on my hands all the time when I sort through them for feeding. Their spikey legs do feel weird. I did freak out a bit when Ikigai threw one on my face one night but mainly because in my sleepy state I thought it was a big sp...

Poseidon - The Dubia Roach

Just before his final shed. He spent a week or more sitting on top of their orange peel house. I dipped water on him now and then to help in case he was trying to shed. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4696/25806135388_f1854b8840.jpg Poseidon by TamanduaGirl , on Flickr And he did molt out with a mang...

Re: "Best" state?

Missouri is pretty good you just have to register big cats, not get a permit or anything like that but the county and cities may require more.

Native foxes do need a permit and can't be kept in the house but exotic foxes don't require anything.

Every angel, a.k.a. raccoon, is different. Every raccoon has his / her own personality. Concerning healthy food, it is the same...what other raccoons like, yours might not ( own experience )....You might get loads of tips, not all of them...or even none, will apply to your angel. The only key, I TH...

Re: To those thinking of taking on a fox this year....

I've also seen enough people get them then later say they have to move for work or are military and being deployed or moved to another base. Don't get one unless you are fairly settled. You know if you are in the military you will probably have to move or be deployed at some point so don't get one y...

Aw poor thing. Are they able to treat that? Aurora seems to have endocrine imbalance issues but with no normals for her species there's no way to test for it so no way to treat it.

Re: Aggressive coon, need help!

By release I meant take down the cage completely, no more cage. Not throw him outside to fend for himself! That makes more sense :) He is in a ferret nation two tier cage right now. When he calms down we are hoping to let him free roam our room. That is the bare minimum for a ferret or fennec, anim...

Re: Nutrition - I think I want a Fennec Fox

My diet page is updated, finally, to reflect the fact most fennecs eat less than the info I originally had. Just makes it a bit more lenient of retinol but doesn't really change the diet plan. http://tiny-foxes.com/Diet.html

This sounds more like a sales pitch than an intro. What animals do you have? Are you interested in any you don't have yet? If you don't reply this will be deleted as spam.
