I am forced to quote myself. Your opinions don't seem to be based in any facts. According to pet abuse there are 190 cases of abused exotics. There are 18.2 million estimated exotics so only 0.001% are abused and that counts gerbils ect so most are unregulated still and less abused than domestics. A...

tigerserv, answer this question. why was the regs not bad at all about 20-30 years ago? never heard of bans back then, or 2-year experience, and killing the animal found without a permit.. That's the point really incidents went up after the regs got in place, places with more regs have more inciden...

The states with the toughest regs also seem to have the highest number or big exotic incidents. so yes it seems to me that less regs does not mean more abuse and neglect. If someone has an animal to "show off" to friends and they show a sick, injured, or messy animal. you think they are al...

They are not near as bad as made out to be. You can swim with them and not get bit. It's just a nice scary myth. Even the few species that do eat meat are scavengers and go for already dead things. They don't want to bother with living things because they thrash about and could injure them. There's ...

common sense is that you do not let high school kids that you dont even know come and get their senior pics taken with a tiger for the kid to end up dead They were USDA licensed so already regulated. The didn't follow the regulations. More regulations will prevent his how? common sense means you ha...

look for a good aquarium store. There are many variety of piranha most are actually vegetarian. Your state could ban them though so the best bet is ask at a really good store. They are also schooling fish so you need a big tank and at least three.

what really kind of gets me, is when people that has never raised a bear, tiger or large animals in that category, seems to think that if someone wants to own these animals, then they should To bad because you will never get the votes or anyone to listen to the few tiger and bear owners compared to...

Oregon under attack again.

They are once more trying to add crocs and gators to the exotic animal regs but they are still changing the wording of the regs to exclude anyone keeping them as pets. So all exotic felines, all canines(any size) all bears and primates(any size) will be banned. But they did add a grandfather clause ...

Armadillos are considered a pest by most people and they are an invasive species in Florida. So really it's better taken for a pet than killed. You could try talking to pest control in Florida or a state they are native and ask about getting one they are removing. In Texas they sell stuffed(taxiderm...

I just toss the celery in there. I've given her carrots before too but it takes her much longer to eat that. It never even occurred to me to cook them a bit first. Would soften them up but I think the water does that naturally if you give it a few days. My bunny wont eat cooked veggies so maybe it w...

They have similar issues to anteaters. Need vitamin K in the diet or they are hemophiliacs ect. There are a couple armadillo owners or used to be owners on my group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xenarthra_keepers They also breed only slightly better than anteaters so have the same issue of them hav...

well one of the biggest reasons I havent gotten a USDA liscense is because it makes your adress and types of animals public knowledge. I think that is a huge violation to my privacy. That's not really true. The online list they have/had only listed city from and zip but I never found my self on the...

Weird the catfish should at least eat it. mine loves veggies. she really like celery. Sometimes it has to be in a few day before she really starts getting noticeable bites out of it. I can't remember about the teras but our mollies(they have another name but I'm forgetting it at the moment) would pi...

Of course they would be bred for money but that would just mean there are that many more of them then all that less endangered so that even if they do go extinct in the wild there would still be plenty left and there would be a pool to reintroduce someday if their home is saved. It's just one of tho...

There's a person on DeviantArt that posted photos of their pet stripped Hyena. I thought they were the same as Aardwolves but they explained there are more than just two types. Never looked that deeply into them before.
