Re: Constipated

Husband inadvertently picked up the liquid baby suppositories rather than the solid, but it actually worked out better, I think. We were able to draw up a bit in a smaller-tipped syringe and insert it more comfortably (I hope!). Within 10 minutes, he was going! YAY! This morning, he is a much much M...

Re: Constipated

Thanks for your suggestions, TamanduaGirl. Hubby is picking up suppositories now and we'll give that a whirl. If he's not better by morning, I'll be calling the vet. I have baby rice cereal here and was going to try that but was worried it would just add to the backlog, so to speak. :icon-wink:

Re: Constipated

I'm having the constipation problem with my new lil guy. He's 5 weeks old. The last time he had a decent poop was Friday, when we brought him home from the breeder. Since then, his poop has been little itty bitty peices and hard as stones. I started adding vegetable oil and karo to his formula on Sa...

Introducing Raccoon & Dog to each other

Taking suggestions on how (and at what age of the raccoon) to introduce our new baby to our dog. Our old coon and our older dog were great from the start and played together all the time. We still have the older dog, and I'm not worried at all about introducing her to the new baby. I'm sure she'll b...

Re: SICK RACCOON PLEASE HELP

Sorry if I came off worse than I intended. I just see SO MANY people who think they HAVE to have this exotic or that and then they end up with very sick (or dead) animals because they had no idea what they were getting into. They did not educate themselves beforehand and they had no idea HOW to care...

Should be picking mine up within the next week or so. Breeder is working to acclimate the litter to the bottle; once that's going well, then I'll be able to pick mine up!

Re: SICK RACCOON PLEASE HELP

It would be helpful to know where you're located... ???? Hill Street Veterinary Hospital in York PA will treat raccoons. They do have experience with exotics. Your could also check with University of Penn in Philadelphia. Sounds to me like he may have an upper respiratory infection <BUT> you MUST MU...
