Re: Cottontail breeders?

It's too bad there aren't any breeders, I wish they weren't so nervous. We rescued a few as well, but they weren't surviving well so we had to give them to a rehabilitator. However, I'd much rather have the domestic rabbit we had then one that was always nervous, because there were 6 kids in our hou...

Re: Goodnight, Sienna

I'm so sorry. He sounds like he was a very happy cat though, and he lived a long life.

We have a siamese colored cat that is the sweetest thing in the world. We have nearly lost him so many times, but he has his 9 lives and just keeps going.

RIP Sienna

Re: my female peacock.

I'm sorry about your chicks. Likely she treated them like Peachicks instead of chickens. My chickens have lost chicks to drowning and trampling as well, even though they do their best. In one case my hen, Eagle, hatched out three chicks but another mother hen, Beauty, killed them all. Eagle would ru...

Re: Chicks hatching!

Oh wow! I'm not kidding, Little Dude is crowing! Its been like one week, he is still tiny, tiny, tiny, still in my room (oh great  ), and he is crowing! It is the lamest, highest pitched crow ever (sounds like he is dying) but it is still a crow. He is in my room, at 2:00 in the morning, crowi...

Re: new arctic in the house

Welcome! Congrats on the fox!

Its funny you should say "fox family" since my families last name is fox. Probably why I love foxes so much. Our farm is even called Fox Field Farm. : )

Re: Netherland's Dwarf Bunny~Elliot

Its awesome that you helped Elliot out. I LOVE the cage, its perfect for bunnies! Our first pet ever was a rabbit, named Snuggles but usually she just went by Bunny. She probably had the most personality of any animal I've ever seen or owned EVER. She was awesome, even enjoyed eating meat if she got...

I love mustelids too! I have to admit I love all of them, but a few of them top my list. I hear Tayras and Grisons make great pets, and also they are some of the only truly social mustelids in the wild.

What's your favorite species?

Re: Chicks hatching!

The Rhode Island mix is called a Red Star, and I think its a mix between a Rhode Island Red and Rhode Island White, though it gets complicated as all the different hatcheries do it in different ways. Pullets will naturally lay smaller eggs when they start laying, though usually they get to normal si...

Re: Do baby VA. Opossums like to play?

That's a good question. I'm not sure.

Some time soon I'm hoping to get a license to work with orphaned and injured wildlife where I live, I hope to work with baby opossums a lot. They sound so unique.

They're lucky you helped them. : )

Re: stoat

Stoats are beautiful, it would be really cool to find a breeder. I think most breeders, however, try to breed them as fur animals, and they are said to be very poor fur farm animals because they are aggressive towards one another and often towards people. However, a few people have successfully bred...

Re: Introducing Kismet!

That is a beautiful dog! She looks really friendly and happy. : ) I'm doing a lot of research on Wolf-dogs, and was wondering how you would describe a low-contents personality? I know each dog is an individual, we have six dogs at this time and have worked with many others int he past. As of yet I'v...

Re: Any exotic rodent owners here?

I love exotic rodents! I'm actually collecting as much information on their care as I can. I hear that in other countries some people keep the Giant Red Flying Squirrels. They are so amazing look! Agoutis, Pacas, Chinchillas, and all sorts of jirds are also on my list. Your plans sound awesome. Some...

Re: Mexican Spinytailed Iguana

I just wanted to say, I loved your story! You made me want Spiny-tailed iguanas all over again. You take wonderful care of yours, they sound very content and healthy.

I'm really glad that Ice was okay, that would be really frightening.

Best of luck in your cage building! : )
