Re: Anyone else having coat issues?

Its 90 here and I'm still working on the butt mats, They won't let me near them with scissors and only take the pulling for a few minutes at a time, so it takes a while.

Re: Quote About Raccoons

The difference is very likely in the personalities of the people who answered. Over the years I have had 15-20 pet coons ( yeah, I'm oollllddddd). and have loved each and every one of them for many different reasons. None of them have had the same personalities and differing degrees of , for lack of...

That is what I was worried about as well.. The swings' destruction. Kevlar might work.

Re: Quote About Raccoons

I have never thought of coons as being empathic or compassionate. If you want/need either of those- get a dog. Coons operate on their own agenda, you either get with their program or get left behind.

Re: First time raccoon parent

Don't worry about the bottle, he will quit when he's ready, just keep offering him other food. I never play rough with my babies, if they want to play rough they can play with the dog. I don't know if it will work with a baby but try scratching him behind the ears, his throat, and at the base of his...

Re: First time raccoon parent

At 9 weeks he's probably off the bottle but if not make feeding time a cuddle time. The worry I would have is that mostly they seem to get more independent as they age so you want to encourage him to relax with you now so it gets to be a habit. Hand feed him treats and groom him now so he gets used ...

Re: Terrible 2s

Since you started it. Your above must be specific to dogs. While spay refers to the neutering of a female animal neuter refers to the lack or removal of sexual organs. Since we are not talking about dogs, neuter, while not as specific as spay, is correct.i.e. A spayed coon has been neutered. neu·ter ...

Re: Terrible 2s

I faced a problem like that with my coons, and I was only gone a week. Kinks have a reputation of being unstable. If there is any way you can do it, I would try getting him fitted for a muzzle and handling him extensively while muzzled, correcting him at any signs of aggression but don't harass him. I...

Re: Husband and wife plus raccoon

Its a good idea having him with you all the time as a baby, but even with a privacy fence he won't be safe outside, if you have any trees, as he gets older you will be waiting hours for him to decide to come down, the privacy fence won't hold him in and as he (she?) gets older he will also get more i...

Re: Replacer Milk

Its been so long since I've bottle fed it wouldn't do any good to give a brand. You have to be careful because the company's change ingredients without notice and a formally "good" brand can change. But, about bottle feeding- they will tell you when its time to wean. I think mine have usua...

Re: Armadillo's and leprosy info

Thanks, from all the hoopla, I thought that they were carriers. Like people try to make believe that coons carry rabies.
