Re: Tick paralysis - anyone have experience with rehab?

That's good to know. With all that hair I'm not sure I would know if my coons did have a tick so its probably a good thing they don't care for the great outdoors. Did I misunderstand, thinking that his problems with walking are because of his deformities that weren't necessarily caused by the ticks? ...

Re: Scooter

Thanks Pat, Do yours like liquorice? I've never tried that. They didn't care for the dog treats I've tried so far. They do like jerky. Generally I offer them whatever I'm eating when they come around or I call them. Scooters problem with me is usually when I'm standing, I'll try getting down to his ...

Scooter

Scooter is my problem child. He has been since I got him several years ago from a family that was looking for a home for him. I don't call him a rescue because he was I think very happy where he was, his family had pet skunks I think he enjoyed terrorizing. Hence the new home. He was very attached t...

Re: Newbie <3

About the smell. There are products out there that take care of the problem. For my skunk I used marshall bi odor. I put the recommended amount in his drinking water and it worked. Its supposed to be safe and it must be tasteless or close to it. I believe its enzymes. It also eliminates body odor.

Re: Hello Everyone

I think your idea about socializing your baby is great. My daughter wanted a coon and in my brilliant idea of parenting, I made her take responsibility for him. She had to take him with her where ever she went- he had to be feed. While personality does make a huge difference. The Binxster was the &q...

I'm glad he's feeling better. Is this something you are going to have to medicate for forever? If so, maybe mix in a peanut butter sandwich cookie.

Re: Our new addition, meet Teddy!

As long as he's not pulling the "legs" off his ball and swallowing them, it's not a problem, is it? They are all soo cute and I was seriously impressed with the thought that you had fish tanks and coons, until I realized you were in a store. The first thing that succumbed to my coon were f...

Re: White Tigers

Inbreeding is a serious problem. It concentrates their genes, both for "good" and "bad" traits. If white tigers occur naturally in a wild population, then white tigers are obviously not a separate breed. Is the AZA ban real or just on paper? Most inbreeding occurs in "domesti...

Re: Sometimes I just don't get it

I could and probably should, but except for treats, they eat what and whenever they want. Their chicken and any other spoilables I take up and give to the chickens, goats, turkey (i.e.someone else) after a couple of hours, but they have access to taste of the wild all the time.
